The Will of Philip Iles of Bradford in the County of
Wilts and Diocese of Sarum
I Philip Iles of Bradford in the County of Wilts rough Mason being through
that Mercy of God in good health of body and of a sound and disposing Mind
and Memory and Understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and
Testament in manner and form following that is to say ffirst I commit my
soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be decently
Interr’d at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and as to such
Worldly estate as it hath pleased to bless me with I dispose of it as
followeth I Give unto my three Sons that is to say Abraham Iles Philip Iles
and Joseph Iles four Tenements to be equally divided amongst them (first
paying all my Debts &Mortgages whatsoever out of these Tenements) Viz the
Tenements now Occupied by the after named persons that is to say by Thomas
Scrine by Thomas Bullon by Elizabeth Iles & by John Roberts I Give unto
Elizabeth the Widdow of Thomas Iles One Shilling I Give unto Mary the
Daughter of Elizabeth Iles twenty Shillings All the rest of my Lands Estates
hereditaryment Goods Chattles rights Credits whatsoever I Give unto my
Daughter ffrances Haskins During her Natural Life after her decease my Will
is that all the Lands that I leave my Daughter ffrances Haskins Possessed of
shall be equally divided twixt two Children that is to say John Vennal and
Mary Haskins but if the said John Vennall and Mary Haskins should not
Survive their Mother ffrances Haskins then all and every part thereof is and
shall be at the said ffrances Haskins Will and disposal to do as She thinks
fit And I do hereby make and Appoint my Daughter the said ffrances Haskins
Sole Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking and making void all former
Wills by me at any time formerly made And do declare this to be my last Will
and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this to be my last Will and
Testament Set my hand and Seal this Seventeenth day of May in the
Seventeenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the
Grace of God of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the faith
and so forth and in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and
fforty four Philip Iles
