In
the name of God, Amen,
the ninth day of
February 1704, I, George
Hyde of Drayton in the
county of Berks,
wheelwright, being of
perfect mind and memory
thanks be given
therefore, calling unto
mind the mortality of my
body and knowing that it
is appointed for all men
to die, do make and
ordain this my last will
and testament, that is
to say,
Principally and first of
all I give and recommend
my soul into the hands
of God that gave it, and
my body I recommend to
the earth to be buried
in decent manner at the
discretion of my
executors, nothing
doubting but at the
general resurrection I
will receive the same
again by the mighty
power of God;
And as touching such
worldly estate wherewith
it hath pleased God to
bless me in this life, I
give demise and dispose
of the same in the
following manner and
form:
Imprimis, I give and
bequeath to my brother
John Hyde one shilling;
Item, I give to my
brother Gabriel Hyde one
shilling;
Item, I give and
bequeath unto my brother
Charles Hyde the sum of
five pounds of good and
lawful money of England
to be paid him within
one year next after my
decease;
Item, I give unto my
sister Sarah Hyde one
shilling;
Item, I give unto my
sister Ann Hyde one
shilling;
Item, I give unto my
sister Mary Hyde one
shilling;
Item, I give unto my
well beloved wife Martha
Hyde, whom I likewise
constitute and make and
ordain my sole and whole
executrix of this my
last will and testament;
And I do hereby utterly

other former testaments,
wills, legacies and
bequests and executors I
gave in ????? before
named, willed and
bequeathed, ratifying
and confirming this and
no other to be my last
will and testament, in
