The Will of Thomas Huxley

 

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Huxley of the Blackpark in the Parish of Whitchurch and County of Salop fflaxdresser being of sound mind and disposing memory do hereby make this my last will and testament in form and manner following first I will that all my just debts and ffuneral expences be paid and discharged by my trustees herein named then I do give devise and bequeath all my freehold property lying and being in the Parish of Audlem in the County of Chester shown by the names of Kinseys Cottage and Causeway Cottage with all and every appurtenance thereto belonging and now in the holding or occupations of Elizabeth Bloor Thomas Davis Charles Wright and John Evans In special trust with all my Personal Property to John Kemp of Adderley and Thomas Chester of Gorse Croft in trust for and unto the purposes hereinafter named that is to say Upon this that they do as soon as convenient after my decease sell all my personal property and pay such just debts if any as shall be then owing from me and Upon trust that they pay out of the rents arising from the aforesaid premises from the aforesaid premises unto my ffather Joseph Huxley the sum of three shillings weekly and every week during the term of his life And upon further trust that after all repairs are paid for and all debts paid of they do pay all the remainder of the rents and profits arising from the aforesaid property to my Brother George Huxley for the term of his life and at his decease in further trust that they do sell all my aforesaid property as Counsel learned in the law shall advise and after paying all costs charges expences and trouble incurred in fulfilment of this trust that then they divide all the remainder of the money arsing from the sale of the aforesaid property amongst the children of my Brother James Huxley my Brother George Huxley my Sister Mary Durkas and my Sister Joanna Husbands that shall be then living And lastly I do hereby appoint my said Trustees Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills heretofore made by me hereto declaring this as and for my last will and testament whereunto I have set my hand and seal this 20th day of ffebruary 1832 The Mark X of Thomas Huxley
