The Will of Sarah Humphries

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Sarah Humphries of Sevenoaks in the County of Kent Widow I appoint Benjamin Corke of Tubhill in the same Parish sole Executor of this my Will and I direct him to pay and satisfy all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expences I desire to be buried in a plain and respectable but inexpensive manner and that my body may be placed near the remains of my Brother John Launder and that my name may be inserted if convenient on his tombstone I give and bequeath to William Corke the eldest son of the said Benjamin Corke by my daughter Ann Corke the sum of Ten Pounds to be placed out at Interest till he arrives at the Age of Twenty one years to Frederick Corke another son of the said Benjamin and Ann Corke the like sum of Ten Pounds to be placed out at interest as aforesaid and my large Bible to Charles Corke another son of the said Benjamin and Ann Corke a like sum of Ten Pounds to be placed out at interest as aforesaid – to Ellen Daughter of the said Benjamin and Ann Corke a like sum of Ten Pounds to be placed out at interest as aforesaid and my Silver Watch – to George another son of the said Benjamin and Ann Corke a like sum of Ten Pounds to be placed out at interest as aforesaid I give and bequeath to my Brother Thomas Launder now residing in the Almshouse in Sevenoaks aforesaid the sum of Ten Pounds I give and bequeath to my Brother in law David Humphries the sum of Ten Pounds I give and bequeath to Martha Crowhurst Sister of my late Husband ten pounds I give and bequeath to my Niece Elizabeth Sears Ten Pounds I give and bequeath to my sister in law Priscilla Snow the sum of Ten Pounds I give and bequeath to my God-daughter Emily daughter of Emily and Henry Withers the sum of Ten Pounds I give and bequeath to my Niece Elizabeth Jones Wife of John Jones the sum of Ten Pounds I give and bequeath to my great Nephew Edward Bellingham ten pounds I give devise and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto and to the sole and only proper use of my said daughter the said Ann Corke her heirs executors administrators and assigns I revoke all prior wills In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth day of November in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty six _ S Humphreys
