The Will of Jonathan Horn

 

Will of Jonathan Horn of Briscoe, parish  of Romaldkirk. 16 June 1798

In the Name of God Amen. I Jonathan Horn senior of Briscoe parish of Romaldkirk..... to my son Jonathan Horn all my messuages land closes and parcels of ground in Briscoe chargeable hereafter mentioned ... To Have and to Hold ..... for ever. Also I give and devise unto my son Jonathan Horn all my personal estate as cows, calves, horses sheep husbandry gear etc etc

I also give and devise unto my son Jonathan Horn all my books, with all the desks and implements belonging the same whatever also to son Jonathan Horn one bed & bed stead with cloathes belonging the same and also my clock. I give and devise unto my daughter Martha Allison for and during her natural life one annuity of £1 10s payable out of the lands in Briscoe or in lieu of which the sum of £20 payable out of my land in Briscoe... one yearr after my decease.

I give and devise unto my daughter Betty Horn all my household furniture except such as before mentioned, as Beds, bedding, dressers, cupboards, plates, tables, chairs, etc etc.

I further devise unto my dau Betty Horn £26... to be paid out of land at Briscoe.... I also constitute that my executor is to let my daughters Martha Alison & Betty Horn have the prevelidge of each one room in my house at Briscoe during their natural lives if they have occation for the same. Son Jonathan all the rest and residue and remainder of goods and chattels.

16 June 1798 the within named executor appeared and was sworn, goods did not amount to £100.
