The Will of Margaret Hopkins

 

In the Name of God Amen This is the last will and Testament of me Margaret Hopkins of the town of Aberystwyth in the County of Cardigan widow ffirst I give and bequeath unto my niece Jane Ann Winifred Morris the sum of one hundred pounds I also give and bequeath unto my niece ffrances Morris the like sum of one hundred pounds I likewise give and bequeath unto my Ann Elizabeth Hopkins Bridges grand-daughter to the late David Williams Hopkins of Aberystwyth surgeon the sum of fifty pounds I give to Susanna Lloyd of Newtown spinster the sum of ten pounds I give to Mary Davies the wife of Evan Davies late of Hendrelas the sum of ten pounds and I will and desire that all the foregoing legacies be paid by my executor hereinafter named in six months after my decease I give unto my grand nephew James Morris the son of Lewis Morris of Aberystwyth Owen Morris and James Morris sond of Owen Morris of London William Mayhew son of William Mayhew of London John Lloyd Dixon Williams son of the Reverend David Williams of Bron – C... Richard Morgan and .... Morgan sons of the late Reverend Richard Morgan of Lalnfair and Richard the eldest son of James Morris attorney at law Rhos..... the sum of one hundred pounds to be equally divided among them share and share alike and to be paid to them respectively on attaining the age of twenty one years and if any of them shall happen to die before attaining such age of twenty one the share or shares of him or them so dying ..... into and form part of the residue of my personal estate and I will that the said sum of one hundred pounds shall as soon as may be after my decease be laid out at interest and paid to my said grand-nephews in manner aforesaid with all the interest accumulated thereon I give to Elizabeth Jane Margaret and Winifred the daughters of my nephew Lewis Morris of Aberystwyth the sum of eighty pounds to be divided amongst them share and share alike and to be paid to them in six months after my decease All the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of what nature or kind soever I give and bequeath unto my said nephew Lewis Morris he paying thereout my just debts and funeral and testamentary expences and whom I hereby appoint sole executor of this my will And whereas some years ago and since I had the misfortune to become blind I executed a certain Instrument prepared by the late Reverend John Williams of....... as and for my last Will and Testament which Instrument is now in the possession of David Davies of Kensington surgeon or of Letitia his wife and has lately been represented to me to be a Deed of Gift instead of a Will Now whichever it may happen to be and whether it may be one or the other I hereby declare it was intended by me to be my Will and not a Deed of Gift and I hereby therefore totally annul and revoke the same and all other and former Wills made by me and declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fifth day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one _ Margt Hopkins
