transfer of authority for administration of estate
Know all men by
this pr(esen)te That we Gilbert Holte of Bold in the County of
Lanc(aste)r Linnenweav(er) James Atherton of Bold afforesaid
yeoman & margrett now wife of the said James Atherton we
thafforesaid Gilbert and margrett beinge brother & sister of
Thomas Holte Late of Bold afforesaid dec(eased) who dyed
Intestate w(i)thout makinge any will or testam(en)t att all
havinge noe wife or children att all by him begotten wherby the
right of Adm(ini)stacon of all the goods & p(er)sonall estate of
the said Thomas Holte dec(eased) doth app(er)tyne & belonge unto
us thafforesaid Gilbert & Margrett as beinge next of kindred to
the said Thomas Holte and beinge unwillinge to take upon us the
charge & burden of the said Adm(ini)stracon: Thererfore wee
thafforesaid Gilbert Holte James Atherton & margrett now wife of
the said James have Constituted Authorysd and appointed And by
this pr(esen)ts doe Constitute Authorise and appointe our
trustie & welbeloved freinde John Rughsedg of Bold afforesaide
Linnenweav(er) to become Lawfull Administrator of all the goods
Cattells Chattells rights & Creditts of the said Thomas Holte
doe and to Adm(ini)ster the sume in truste for the use of us
thafforesaid Gilbert Holte & margrett Atherton And wee doe herby
Renounce all our power & right of Adm(ini)stracon of in & unto
the goods and p(er)sonall estate of the said Thomas Holte doe
And wee doe herby Authorise the said John Roughsedge to doe and
p(er)forme all things needfull & expedyente to bee done in the
p(re)misses and wee doe herby ... nise to Ratifie allowe &
confirme the same: In witnes wherof wee have hearunto putt our
hands & sealles this seacond daye of June: An(n)o R(egis) Caroli
