The Will of Susanna Holdich

 

In the Name of God Amen  I Susanna Holdich Widow of the Parish of Thrapston in the County of Northampton being sick and weak in Body, but of perfect mind and Memory, Thanks be given unto God therefore do make this my last Will and Testament

That is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it, and for my Body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like decent manner at the Discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God; and as touching such worldly Effects wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the following Manner and Form

 

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Son Edward Holdich two of my best Silver Spoons and a Marrow Spoon a Silver Cup and Six Tea Spoons, Two pair of Flax Sheets, Five Tablecloths four fine Hakabac Napkins and five courser Hakabac Napkins One large Hakabac Table cloth and one Small one, one pair of flax Pillow-beers and twelve pair of course sheets of Hemp, Four fine Shirt Cloths and two Course ones Eight hand Towels and Two Buckcloths

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Holdich Two Silver Salts a Silver Porringer and two old Silver Spoons & Four fine Hukabac Napkins.

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter in Law Sybella Holdich my best Stays

 

Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Holdich the Sume of Fifty Pounds to be paid four Years after my Decease, A Chest of Drawers Dressing Table and Swing Glass a Corner Cupherd The Bedstead Featherbed, Curtains and Blankets and Window Curtains in the best Chamber And the little Bed featherbed and beding belonging to it.  The Chest and leather Trunk in the Hall Chamber a little round Table and the Great Table in the Hall Three Barrels one of Twenty Gallons one of twelve and one of nine Three Silver Spoons a Silver half Pint a Tea Strainer and Tongs, Twelve of my best Plates two little Pewter Dishes and two the largest Size excepting one and one middle sized one. All my wearing Aparel and Childbed linnen All my Damask linnen Diaper Table Cloth a Fine Hukabac Table Cloth four fine Hukabac Napkins Two pair of the best Sheets of flax and one pair of Courser one pair of Holland Pillow beers and one pair of flax ones and all the linnen not before given away in this my Will

 

Item All my Estate not before given away I give unto my Son Edward Holdich whom I likewise constitute, make and ordain my only and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make Void all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament

 

In Witness whereof  I the Said Susanna Holdich the Testatrix have set my hand and Seal the seventh day of October in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and fifty four

The Twenty fourth day of February1755 Edward Holdich Sole Ex'tor named  in the within-written Will was sworn faithfully to perform the same & so forth Before me Edwd Yorke Surrogate.
