In the Name of God Amen I John Holcomb of the Parish of Charlwood in the County of Surry Yeoman Do make publish & declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following I desire to be decently interred at the Discretion of my Extrx & Exor hereinafter named I will in the first place that all my just Debts Legacies ffuneral Expences & the Costs of the Probate of this my Will be fully paid & satisfied I give & bequeath unto my loving Wife Hellen Holcomb all my Household ffurniture Plate Linen & China for her own use &benefit I give and bequeath unto my son John Holcomb ten pounds to my Son William Holcomb ten pounds to my son James Holcomb ten pounds to my Son ffrancis Holcomb twenty pounds I give & bequeath unto the Children of my late Daur Ann Silver ten pounds each on their attaining their respt ages of twenty one Years and I do hereby direct my Extrix and Exor or the Survivor of them to place the said Legacies out at Interest & apply the Interest thereof for the benefit of the said children & in case of either of their Deaths under that age then I give the Legacy of him her or them so dying & all Interest which shall at that time be due thereon unto the Survivors if more than one and if but one to that one only I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Henrietta Maria Danson ten pounds to my daur Annabell Garrett ten pounds to my Granddaughter Elizabeth Wix ten pounds all which said several Legacies I will shall be paid them by my Executrix and Exor or the Survivors of them within six months next after my Decease And my will further is and I do hereby declare that my said Executrix & Exor or either of them shall not be answerable or accountable for any monies to be….by them by virtue of the trusts hereby in them reposed any other…than each person for such Sum or Sums of money as she or he shall respectively actually receive and that neither of them shall be answerable or accountable for the Acts Receipts neglect or Defaults of the other of them I give & bequeath all the Rest Residue & Remainder of my Personal Estate of what nature kind or Quality soever the same shall consist of at my death (after Payment of my just Debts Legacies & ffuneral Expences and the proving this my Will unto my said Wife Hellen Holcombe her Exors Admors & Assigns And Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my said Wife and my said Son John Holcombe Executrix & Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all former & other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will & Testament written on one Sheet of Paper set my hand and Seal the 17th day of December in the year of our Lord 1807 The mark and Seal of John Holcombe the Testator
