The Will of William Hodgson

 

   April the 14th 1642

 

    In that William Hodgson of Halifax in the county of York, butcher, did the day and year above said, make his last will and testament nuncupative in these words following or words to the like of, to wit, His will and mind is that William Hodgson his son should have £10 in Michaell Driver's hands, to be put out for his sole until he reaches 21 years of age and then he retrieve it, and that Mary his wife and Mary his daughter should have the remainder of his goods. His wife bringing up his son until he attains 21 years., and his wife executrix.
