The Will of Catharine Hitchens
This is the last Will and Testament of me
Catharine Hichens of the Borough of Helstone in the County of Cornwall
Spinster I give and bequeath unto William Thomas Andrew Son of Richard
Andrew of the Borough of Helston aforesaid merchant the sum of one
hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain I give and bequeath unto
Joseph Andrew another son of the said Richard Andrew also the Sum of one
hundred Pounds of like lawful money I give and bequeath unto Mrs Ann
Skues & Mrs Sarah Smyth of the same Place Schoolmistress Mrs Catherine
Martin the Wife of James Martin of Redruth in the said county …….Mrs
Grace Mountsteven of the said borough of Helston Mrs Mary Andrew Wife of
the said Richard Andrew & Mary the Daughter of Mr William Michell of
Truro Mary Ann Bryan Daughter of James Bryan Preacher Mrs Rebecca Cudlip
Wife of Nicholas Cudlip Mary Wife of William Edwards of Mawnan and
Catharine Wife of Cucking Mill the Sum of two Pounds each of like lawful
Money Also I give unto the Poor fund now Principally under the
discretion of the Methodists if such fund shall be in Existence at the
time of my death the Sum of five pounds of like lawful money to be
distributed at the discretion of the then directors as they shall think
proper all which said several legacies are to be paid by my Executrix
hereinafter named within six months after my death I give unto my Aunt
Sarah the Widow of ffrancis Hichens of the Parish of St Day the sum of
five pounds annually to be paid her by my said Executrix by half yearly
Payments if demanded All the rest residue and remainder of my Goods
Chattells and effects ready money mortgages bonds notes and other
securities for money of what nature or kind soever the same may be and
which shall belong to me at the time of my death I give devise and
bequeath unto Mary Andrew daughter of the aforesaid Richard Andrew her
heirs Executors Admors and Assigns And I hereby constitute the said Mary
Andrew whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made In
witness whereof I have to this my lsat Will and Testament set my hand
and seal this fifteenth day of November one thousand eight hundred and
sixteen Catherine Hitchens
