The Will of William Hiorns

 

In the Name of God Amen I William Hiorns of Neithrop in the County of Oxford Tanner and Grocer being weak in Body but of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding Do for the setling of my Worldly Affairs make this my last Will and Testament ffirst I give and devise unto my Son John Hiorns his Heirs and Assigns for ever All and singular my Messuage or Tenement Tann Yard and Premises in my Occupation in Neithropp aforesaid subject nevertheless And I do hereby charge the same with the Payment of the Sum of Two Hundred Pounds to my daughter Elizabeth within twelve Months after my decease Also I give and bequeath unto my said Son John Hiorns all my Stock in Trade as a Tanner and all my Debts Sum and Sums of Money due and owing to me for or on Account of the said Tanning Trade he my said Son paying thereout all and every Sum and Sums of Money that shall and may be due and owing from me to any Person or Persons whatsoever for or on Account thereof Also I give and devise unto my Daughters Elizabeth and Ann thier Heirs and Assigns to hold as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants All and singular my two Messuages or Tenements in Parsons Lane in Banbury in the said County of Oxford one of them being in my own Occupation and the other in the Occupation of Humphry Pedley And also all those two Messuages or Tenements in Calthrup Lane in Banbury aforesaid in the Occupation of John Tyrrell and Herbert Also I give and bequeath unto my said Daughters Elizabeth and Ann their Executors Administrators and Assigns All and every Sum and Sums of Money due to me upon Bounds Mortgages or Notes from any Person or Persons whatsoever and All the Cash I shall have in my House at the time of my decease they paying thereout to my Son John Hiorns the Sum of ffifty Pounds which I owe to him Also I give and bequeath unto my said Daughters Elizabeth and Ann all and singular my Stock of Trade as a Grocer and Chandler and all Book Debts Sum and Sums of Money that I shall owe to any Person or Persons on Accound of the said Trades of a Grocer and Chandler Also I Will and require that such of my just Debts which I have not here provided against and the Charges of my ffuneral Expences shall be born and paid out of my Household Goods and ffurniture in my House in Neithropp and Banbury aforesaid and from and after the Payment of my said just Debts and ffuneral Expences then I give and bequeath the Remainder of my said Household Goods unto my said Son and Daughters in equal shares and Proportions Also I give to my said Daughters my little Horse which I usually ride on Also I Will and require that my ffuneral may be plain and decent and I should wish to be attended to my Grave by my Nephews John Hiorns and John Rouse and I am also desirous that no other Person except my Sister Elizabeth Claridge may be asked or invited to my ffuneral I also desire that the Six Men who shall carry me to the Grave may be paid two shillings and Six Pence each And that a Leg of Mutton may be provided for them and Dew Bloxham at William Sanders's in Parsons Lane in Banbury aforesaid and that they may have therewith Seven Shillingsworth of Ale Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Son and Daughter Executor and Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke all former Will and Wills by me made In Testimony whereof I the said Testator William Hiorns have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper set my hand to the first Sheet and to the last my hand and Seal the Nineteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord 1771 Wm Hiorns
