I John Hingston of Ratcliffe in the parish of Stepney in the County of Middlesex Mariner being of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be given to Almighty God for the same but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life and the dangers of the sea and to prevent disputes and controversies that may happen after my decease do hereby make my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say) ffirstly and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator in hopes of a full pardon and remission of my sins and to be saved by the precious death and merits of my blessed saviour and Redeemer Christ Jesus and my Body to the Earth further as it shall please God to order and as touching and concerning my Worldly Estate and Goods which it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath as follows (that is to say) all such all such Wages Sume and Summes of Money Land and Tenements Goods Chattells and Estates whatsoever real or personall wherewith at the time of my decease I may be possessed or Invested or which shall then being of right appertaining to me I do give devise and bequeath the same unto my Loving Wife Jane Hingston and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Wife Executrix of this my said Will and do hereby revoke all former Wills or Deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore made and do declare and ordain these presents to stand and be for and as my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fifth day of May in the second year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith anno dom 1729     John Hingston
