The Will of William Hingeston
This is the last Will
and Testament of me William Hingeston of
Lyme Regis in the County of Dorset Surgeon I
direct that my just debts and funeral and
Testamentary expences shall be paid out of
my general personal estate I give and
bequeath all my furniture linen plate china
glass books pictures prints wines and other
…..Stores and all other household effects in
and about my dwelling house and premises at
Lyme Regis aforesaid (except such parts
thereof as belong to the Trustees of the
Settlement made on my marriage with my
deceased wife) unto my Wife Lucy Hingeston
absolutely And I believe to my said Wife
Lucy Hingeston a legacy of Two hundred
pounds to be paid to her within one month
after my decease All the residue of my
Estate and effects whatsoever and
wheresoever I devise and bequeath unto my
son William Fane Hingeston and Robert
William Hillman of Lyme Regis aforesaid
Solicitor Upon trust to invest the same in
their names in or upon any Stocks funds &
Securities of or guaranteed by the
Government of the United Kingdom or any
British Colony or Dependency or in Stock of
the Bank of England or the Debentures
Securities Stocks or Shares of any Railway
or other Company in Great Britain or upon
real Securities in England or Wales with
power to vary the investments And upon
further trust out of the annual income to
pay the sum of one hundred and twenty five
pounds a year to my said Wife Lucy Hingeston
during so long as she shall continue my
Widow And from and after her second Marriage
(if such should ever happen) Upon trust to
pay the sum of Sixty two pounds ten
shillings to my said Wife during the
remainder of her life And subject to the
provision hereinbefore made for the benefit
of my said Wife In trust as to the capital
and income of my said Residuary Estate for
my said son William Fane Hingeston for his
absolute use And I appoint the said William
Fane Hingeston and Robert William Hillman
Executors of this my Will In witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand this fourth day
of February One thousand eight hundred and
eighty six – Wm Hingeston
