I Samuel Hickson of that part of Markyate Street which is in the Parish of Caddington in the County of Hertford Shop keeper Do make this my last Will and Testament ffirst I give and devise all my Copyhold Estate in the parish of fflamsted and Manor of Beechwood of which I have heretofore made a surrender to the use of my last Will to my Exors hereinafter to be named in trust for the following purpose that is to say they shall within twelve months after my death sell the same by public or private sale and apply the money arising from such sale in or towards the discharge of such debts as I may owe for money borrowed and if the money arising from such sale shall be more than sufficient to discharge such debt or debts then I direct that the surplus shall be considered as part of my Personal Estate and if I shall owe more for money borrowed than what the sale of the said Estate shall purchase then I direct the deficiency to be paid out of my Personal Estate All other my ffreehold and Copyhold Estates I will shall descend to my son Samuel as my Heir at Law All my household Goods and ffurniture I give equally amongst my Children share and share alike All other my Personal estate whatsoever I give to my daurs Mary charlotte and Elizabeth share and share alike after the discharge of all my lawful and just Debts and I nominate my Brother William Hickson and my Daughter Mary joint Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament all written with my own hand one Sheet of Paper this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord 1810
Whereas I the above named Samuel Hickson have omitted to have the above written Will formerly made by me properly published and Witnessed now I have examined the same do publish and confirm it as my last Will and Testament except the appointment of my brother William as Executor which on account of my children being advanced to years of discretion I do revoke and do Appoint my Son Samuel Hickson and my daughters Mary Charlotte and Elizabeth joint Executor and Executrixes of this which I now confirm and publish as my last Will and Testament all in my own handwriting Saml Hickson
