The Will of John Hiatt

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hiatt of Fulwell in the Parish of Spelsbury in the County of Oxford Farmer I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences may be paid and satisfied as soon after my decease as conveniently can be I give and devise all that my freehold cottage or tenement with the garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being at Laiford in the County of Oxford and now in the occupation of Sarah Thornett unto and to the use of my Sister Elizabeth Hiatt her heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath all my live and dead farming stock household goods and furniture monies Personal Estate and Effects of every sort and kind unto and to be divided equally between and amongst my Brother Thomas Hiatt my Sister the said Elizabeth Hiatt and my Sisters Hannah Hiatt and Ann Hiatt share and share alike I give devise and bequeath all and every the messuages or tenements and hereditaments which at my death be vested in me upon trusts or by way of mortgage and of which at my death I shall have power to dispose by Will unto the said Thomas Hiatt and Hannah Hiatt their heirs executors and administrators respectively according to the ..... thereof respectively Upon the Trusts and subject to the equity of redemption which at my death shall be subsisting or capable of taking effect therein respectively but so that the money secured on such Mortgages be taken as part of my personal Estate And I appoint my said brother Thomas Hiatt and Sister Hannah Hiatt Executors of this my Will And I do declare that each of them shall be answerable only for his and her own acts deeds scripts and disbursements respectively And that neither of them shall be answerable for involuntary losses and that they shall and may respectively retain and reimburse themselves all costs charges and expences which they may respectively sustain or incur in or about the execution of this my Will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the seventeenth day of April One thousand eight hundred and forty eight John Hiatt
