In the Name of God Amen this seventh day
of May in the year of Our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and
Sixty one I William Henty of Portsmouth Common in the County of
Southampton Belonging to His Majesty's Victualling Office in
Portsmouth in the County aforesaid Being in good Health and of
Sound Perfect and Desposing Memory and Understanding Do make and
ordain those Presents to Contain my Last Will and Testament in
Manner and form Following that is to Say First and Principally I
give my soul to god and my Body to the Earth and my Worldly
estate as follows that is to sa I give and Bequeath All My Pay
and Wages and Sums of Money Goods Chattles and Estate Whatsoever
and Wheresoever and of what Nature Kind Quality or Sort that I
shall Dye Possessed of Interested In or Entitled unto, to Mary
my Loveing Wife so and for her own use and Benefit And I do
hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint the Said Mary my Wife
Sole Executrix of this my Will, Except these Legacies as
Undermentioned That is to Say I give and bequeath at my Decease
unto John Henty my Brother all my Wareing Apparel and my watch
if any; And unto Margaret Simes my Mother in Law One Guinea And
to Mary Henty and John Henty two of my Brother John's children
One Guinea Each And to Samuel Henty my Godson Two Guineas all
the Legacies to be Paid at my Decease If either of the above
named Persons Should Die before me the Legacie of such Person or
Persons shall be equally shared between the Survivors to their
own use and uses forever. I doe hereby bequeath to Mary my
Loveing Wife all that I shall Die Possessed of Except the
abovementioned articles for her own use and benefit during her
Natural Life And after my decease to be my Brother John's and
his Heirs forever; and lastly I doe hereby revoke all former and
other Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Testamony that
this is my Last Will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand
the day and year first above written
