Trusting in
the Supreme I Thomas Henty of
Landport in the County of
Southampton late Caulker in
Portsmouth Dockyard make this my
last Will and Testament and arrange
my temporal affairs in manner
following that is to say I give and
bequeath unto my dear and
affectionate Wife Mary Henty all my
ready money securities for money
money lent or at interest and Club
money To hold the same to and for
her own absolute use and benefit for
ever subject however to the payment
thereout of all my just debts
funeral expenses and the costs of
proving this my last Will and
Testament I give and bequeath unto
my said Wife Mary Henty all my
household goods and furniture plate
china and all the rest residue and
remainder of my personal Estate
whatsoever and wheresoever of
whatever nature kind or description
the same may be or consist of at the
time of my decease To hold the same
for and during her natural life and
immediately after her decease to be
disposed of as hereinafter mentioned
I give and devise all my freehold
messuages Lands tenements
hereditaments and premises and all
other my real estate whatsoever and
wheresoever together with all and
singular the rights members and
appurtenances thereunto belonging
which I am or may be possessed of
interested in or over which I have
any disposing power unto my said
Wife Mary Henty To hold the same for
and during her natural life and
immediately after her decease I give
and devise the freehold messuage
dwellinghouse and appurtenances
situate in and being Number three
......Church Path Landport aforesaid
now in the occupation of Mrs
unto my daughter Rebecca Capper Wife
of Edward Capper of Lamport
Coppersmith in the said dockyard To
hold the same unto her her heirs and
assigns for ever independent of her
present or any future husband And
immediately after the decease of my
Wife I give and devise my freehold
messuage dwellinghouse and
appurtenances situate in
Constitution Square Crown Street
Ringston near Landport aforesaid now
in my own occupation to my Son
Thomas Henty Junr To hold the same
to him his heirs and assigns And as
to all my household goods
......plate china and the said rest
residue and remainder of my personal
Estate I give and bequeath the same
unto and equally between my said Son
Thomas Henty Junr and my daughter
Rebecca Capper or the whole to the
survivor of them but if they both
die before my said Wife then I
bequeath the same to her for her own
sole absolute use and benefit for
ever And as to all the residue of my
real Estate after the decease of my
Wife I give and devise the same unto
my Son Thomas Henty Junr and my
daughter Rebecca Capper and their
heirs To hold the same unto my said
Son and to my daughter independent
of her present or any future husband
she may have and their respective
heirs and assigns for ever as
tenants in common and not as joint
tenants I hereby nominate constitute
and appoint my Wife Mary Henty and
my Son Thomas Henty Junr Executors
of this my last Will hereby revoking
all former Wills by me made I
declare this only to be my Will In
Witness whereof I the said Thomas
Henty the Testator have to this my
last will and Testament contained in
two sheets of paper set my hand and
seal in manner following that is to
say the first sheet here annexed my
hand and to this second and last
sheet my hand and seal this
sixteenth day of November in the
year of our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and fifty nine Thomas Henty
