This is the last Will and testament of me
John Henty of the Parish of Portsea in the County of Southampton
Shipwright made whilst in ill health but of sound mind memory
and understanding Whereby I give devise and bequeath all my Real
and Personal Estate and Effects in manner following I give and
devise unto my good friend Thomas Haslett of the Town of Portsea
in the said County shipwright and to his Heirs All that my
Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House wherein I now reside
situated in Charlotte Road in the Parish of Portsea aforesaid
and which I lately purchased of William Bening Upon this special
Trust and confidence that the said Thomas Haslett shall and do
permit and suffer my Wife Mary to reside in and take the Rents
and Profits of my said Messuage during her natural Life And from
and after her decease Upon Trust and Confidence to sell and
dispose of my said Messuage for the most money and best Price
that can be got for the same and immediately on receipt of the
Consideration Money To pay and divide the same equally unto and
between my Four Children namely Mary the Wife of William Gould
Gunner in His Majesty's Navy George Samuel and James Henty share
and share alike And I give and bequeath unto my said Wife All my
Household Goods and Furniture Plate Linen and China Monies
Personal estate and Effects whatsoever the same may consist at
the time of my decease for her support and maintenance But it is
my Will and meaning that such part of my said Personal Effects
as my said Wife may not have occasion for Or as and when she may
not expend during her life be at her decease equally divided
between my Four Children before named And I nominate and appoint
my said Wife and the said Thomas Haslett Executors of this my
Will and hereby revoke all former Wills by me made In Witness
whereof I have to this last Will and Testament set my hand and
seal the seventeenth day of July in the Year of Our Lord One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Six
