The Will of Thomas Henly

 

I Thomas Henly of Markyate in the parish of Caddington in the County of Bedford Butcher do publish and declare this my last Will and Testament first I give and bequeath all my Household Goods and ffurniture Horse cart and all Implements and Utensils used in my business to my Son William and I will and direct that my said son shall carry on the business in which I am now engaged and maintain support and provide for my Infant Children until they shall be capable of providing for themselves and I further will and direct that my said Son shall pay to my Daughter Mary the Sum of ffifteen pounds yearly so long as she shall continue to be manage and superintend the Business and whenever my said Daughter Mary shall separate herself from her said Brother and discontinue the management I will and direct that that my said Son shall pay her the Sum of Thirty Pounds as a reward for her care and attention in superintending my business since the death of her Mother Also all my ready Money Securities for Money and all other my Personal Estate whatsoever except what is hereinbefore disposed of I Give to my Executors hereinafter named in Trust for the following Purposes that is to say I will and direct that my said Son William Henly shall have the rest of the said Money to enable him to carry on my present business for the support of my children until my youngest Child shall have attained the age of twenty one years and then I will and direct that my said personal Estate shall be equally divided among all my Children share and share alike and I further will and direct that if any or either of my said children should die before the time directed for the Sharing of my said personal Estate leaving Issue of his her or their Bodies that such Issue shall receive the Share or Shares of the Parent but if any or either of my Children shall die before the time directed for such distribution leaving no Issue that then the share or shares of him her or them shall be equally divided  among the Survivors And I constitute and appoint my said son William Henly and Richard Proctor of Markgate Street in the parish of Studham in the County of Bedford joint Exors in Trust of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord 1809 the mark of Thomas Henly
