In the Name of God Amen I William Henly of the
Parish of Carshalton in the County of Surry being of Sound and
Perfect mind Memory and understanding do make and ordain this my
last Will and Testament ffirst I resign my Soul to Almighty God my
Body I commit to the Earth to be decently and Privately Buried
behind the Parish Church of Carshalton as near as conveniently may
be to the place where my late Son William Henly lyes Buried all my
Worldly Estates Real and Personal and all my Goods and Chattles I Do
Give and bequeath unto my Dear Wife Hannah Henly while She Shall
continue Widow but if after my decease She Shall marry again I Do in
that case Give unto my Dear Son William Henly now Apprentice to a
Linnen Draper in the Burrough of Southwark the Sum of Eight Hundred
Pounds which said Sum of Eight Hundred Pounds I do order to be paid
to my said Son William Henly upon the day of Such Supposed Marriage
But if my said Wife Hannah Henly Shall not Marry again after my
Decease but shall continue my Widow the I Give and bequeath unto her
my said Wife all my Estate Goods and Chattles of which I shall be
possessed at the time of my Death for her Sole use and benefit only
and if it shall Please God that my said Son William Henly shall dye
during the Life of my said wife Hannah Henly I in that case desire
my said Wife to divide the Estate I have here bequeathed to her
equally between my Relations and her own at her own discretion and I
do desire to declare that the reason of my Devising my estate in the
aforesaid manner to my Dear Wife without appointing Trustees or
Securing it for the Purposes above mentioned is because from the
long Experience I have had of her fidelity and Discretion I think I
may safely place the utmost Trust and Confidence in her and I Do
assure my self that She will fulfill all my Mind Expressed in this
my Will I Do lastly appoint my aforesaid Wife Hannah Henley Sole
Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I
the said William Henly have hereunto Signed my name and affixed my
Seal this thirtieth Day of July in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand
