The Will of George Heelas

 

In the Name of God Amen I George Heelas of Maidenhead in the county of Berks School Master do Publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first I Give and bequeath unto my Brother Robert Heelas of Preston in the County of Bucks Shopkeeper my Watch and all my Wearing Apparel Also I Give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Mary Heelas all the Rents and Profits of my Estate in the Parish of Bisham and County of Berks demised to me by the late Sir Philip Hoby deceased To have take and receive the same to her own use for and during the Term of her natural life and from and after her decease (the Term of the said Lease being unexpired) I Give and bequeath the same to my Daughter Elizabeth Wife of John Yandall of the Parish of Shoreditch in the city of London Dyer and Printer To hold to her for and during the Term of her natural life and from and after her decease (the Term of the said Lease being unexpired) I Give and bequeath the same to my Daughter Mary the Wife of Giles Cooke Carpenter to her sole and separate use and benefit Independent of her said Husband and I do direct that the Receipt of my said Daughter shall be from time to time a sufficient Discharge for the Rents to such Persons who shall pay the same To hold the same to my said Daughter Mary Cook and her assigns for and during all the Rest Residue and Remainder of the Term of years in the said Lease which shall be to come and unexpired Also I Give devise and bequeath unto my said Wife Mary Heelas All that my Messuage or Tenement with three closes of Arable Land with the Appurtenances situate and being at Pinkneys Green in the Parish of Cookham and said County of Berks commonly called or known by the Name of Darkings Closes To hold to her for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I Give devise and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my ffriends Thomas Overshott of the Parish of Cookham aforesaid Blacksmith and the aforesaid John Yandall In Trust that they or the survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such Survivor do from time to time receive and take the Rents Issues and Profits of the same Premises and Pay and Apply the same to the Use and benefit of my said Daughter Mary Cook and her children and in putting out Apprentice my Grandson George Cook at their discretion for and during the natural life of my said Daughter Mary Cook and from and after her decease I Give devise and bequeath the same unto my said Grandson George Cook and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever and it is my Will and I do hereby order and direct that if any time my said Daughter Mary Cook and her children shall be distrest for Money or may otherwise have occasion to borrow any it shall and may be lawful to and for my said two ffriends Thomas Overshott and John Yandall or the Survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such Survivor to borrow any Sum or Sums of Money not exceeding in the whole One hundred Pounds by way of Mortgage on the aforesaid closes to be applied as aforesaid and I do hereby charge the same Estate with the Payment of the same and the Interest thereof And Lastly I do direct that all my just debts ffuneral and Testamentary Expences shall be paid and discharged by my Executrix herein after named and from and after Payment thereof I Give devise and bequeath unto my said Wife Mary Heelas All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estates both Real and Personal whatsoever and wheresoever Goods Chattles Money Securities for Money Debts and Demands whatsoever which I shall die possessed of and not herein before by me disposed of to hold to my said Wife her Heirs Administrators and Assigns for ever And I do Nominate Constitute and appoint my said two ffriends Thomas Overshott and John Yandall and my said Wife Mary Heelas joint Executors and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said George Heelas the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand seaven hundred and sixty eight
