This is the last Will and Testament of me John
Heelas of Holbeck in the County of York Cowkeeper ffirst I direct
that all my just debts funeral and testamentary Expences and the
expences of proving and and registering this my will shall be first
paid by my Executors hereinafter named out of my Personal Estate I
give and bequeath to Ann Hardy the Widow of William Hardy late of
York deceased fifty pounds to Ann North Wife of George North of
Br... all my Silver Plate and also a legacy of fifty pounds to Mary
Shapson of Park Place in Leeds aforesaid the sum of nineteen Guineas
to Maria the Wife of Elsworth of the City of York Waterman the
sum of fifty pounds To her brother Henry Sturdy of York aforesaid
Confectioner the sum of fifty pounds To Alice Overend of Holbeck
aforesaid Widow one feather Bed and Bedding and also a legacy of
nineteen Guineas To Joseph Raper of Holbeck Joiner one of my
Executors hereinafter named nineteen Guineas To Mary Binks of
Holbeck aforesaid Widow the sum of ten pounds To the Trustees for
the time being of the York County Hospital the sum of fifty pounds
and to the Trustees for the time being of the Leeds General
Infirmary the sum of fifty pounds to be applied for the benefit of
those Charitable Institutions respectively in such manner as the
said Trustees or the major part of them respectively shall declare
adviseable or most proper To Hannah Walker the Wife and Hannah
Walker the Daughter of Stephen Walker of Holbeck aforesaid and Mary
ffoster the Wife of my Neighbour William ffoster of Holbeck
aforesaid the sum of ten pounds each And I do hereby direct that the
several sums of Money or Legacies shall be paid within six Calendar
Months next after my decease and subject to the payment of my said
just debts funeral and testamentary Expences and the legacies
hereinbefore bequeathed by this my Will I give and bequeath all my
goods ffurniture Chattels Ready Money and Monies invested in the
Government Securities Mortgages and other Debts and all my Estate
and Interest in such Mortgages and Securities And also all other my
Estates and Effects whatsoever unto William Marrowood or Marwood the
Elder of Topliff in the said County of York Tailor and for his own
absolute use and benefit I give and devise all my Messuages Cottages
Lands Tenements and Hereditaments of what nature or tenure soever
the same may be situate at Alne in the said County of York or
elsewhere in the said County unto and to the use of all and every
the Daughters of George Robinson late of Alne aforesaid ffarmer
deceased that shall be living at my decease that shall be living at
my decease unto and equally between them if more than one as tenants
in common their heirs and assigns shall and do suffer my present
Tenants Thomas Burgess and Robert Robinson to reside in and occupy
their respective houses in case they wish and desire so to do under
me the said Thomas Burgess paying the annual rental of seventeen
pounds and the said Robert Robinson at the rental he now pays during
their respective lives in case they wish or desire so to do and
shall occupy and use the same in a proper and husbandlike manner and
lastly I do hereby appoint the said William Marrowood or Marwood and
the said Joseph Raper Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all
other Wills by me at any time heretofore made And I do hereby
declare this only to be and contain my last will and Testament In
Witness whereof I the said Testator have hereunto set my hand and
seal this thirtieth day of July in the in the year of our Lord One
thousand eight hundred and thirty John Heelas
