The Will of Desem Hearne
In the Name of God Amen I DESEM HEARNE of Thames Street London Widow being of sound mind memory and understanding thanks be to almighty God for the same but considering the uncertainty of this transitory Life do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say ffirst I give and bequeath unto my Son JOHN HEARNE one plain gold ring also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter MARY WOOD my Blew Gown and a Suit of Linen Head Cloths laced with Brussells Lace Also I give and bequeath unto my son DANIEL HEARNE his ffathers picture I also give and bequeath unto my daughter ELIZABETH HEARNE my picture And as to all the rest and residue of my Estate and Effects whatsoever I give and bequeath the same unto my said son DANIEL HEARNE and my Daughter ELIZABETH HEARNE to be equally divided between them share and share alike And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Son DANIEL HEARNE and my Daughter ELIZABETH HEARNE Executors of this my last Will and Testament Revoking all former or other Wills by me heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty three Desem Hearn / signed sealed published and declared by the said Testatrix Desem Hearne as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other heve subscribed our names as witnesses hereto David Sutton / Robert Yeates / Tho. Earl
This will was proved at London the sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty three before the Worshipful Arthur Collier Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Daniel Hearne and Elizabeth Hearne Spinster the son and daughter of the deceased and Executors named in the said Will To whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Gooda Chattels and Credidts of the said deceased being first sworn duly to administer the same.
