The Will of John Hatchman

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hatchman of East Bedfont in the County of Middlesex I give devise and bequeath unto my Executrix and Executor hereinafter named All my freehold Estate situate on the south side of the Great Western Road leading from East Bedfont aforesaid to Staines and all my freehold property situate at Shrubshill in the Parish of Egham in the County of Surrey and all my monies in the Long Annuities and all other Property whatsoever whether Real or Personal whereof I may be seized possessed of or entitled to upon Trust after the payment thereof of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences to pay the rents dividends issues and profits thereof unto my dear Wife Bethia Mary Hatchman for her absolute use and benefit during her natural life and at her death Upon Trust to apply the same towards the maintenance education and support of my Children until the youngest of them shall attain the age of twenty one years and then to divide the same equally between them share and share alike if more than one but if but one then the whole to such one Child but I hereby direct that in case either of my Children shall die before my said dear Wife leaving lawful issue then the share to which he or she would have been entitled if living to go to and be divided equally between such issue share and share alike on their attaining the age of twenty one years but if there shall be no such issue of my Children so dying as aforesaid then the share of him or her so dying to be equally divided between the others of my Children living at the death of my said dear Wife And I hereby direct that in case my said dear Wife shall leave no Child living at her decease or issue of any such Child as aforesaid then that my Property be sold either by public auction or private contract and the proceeds thereof divided into fur equal parts and one part paid to my Sister Hannah Evans And in case of her death to her Son Edward Evans one part to my Sister Eliza Stevens And in case of her death her share to be divided between equally between her Children one part to my Niece Sophia Mary Taylor and the remaining fourth part to go and be paid to my natural Daughter Ann Goatley of Sunning Hill in the County of Berks And I hereby nominate my said dear Wife Bethia Mary Hatchman and my friend Henry Richardson of Ashford in the County of Middlesex Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament and hereby revoke all former Wills or Codicils by me heretofore made done or executed and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto signed my hand this thirteenth day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine _ John Hatchman
