The Will of Ann Hatch

 

I Ann Hatch of Pigneys Green in the parish of Cookham in the County of Berks Widow being in good Health of Body and of sound and perfect Mind Memory and understanding but far advanced in Years and Mindful of the uncertainty of this Life Do make and publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say ffirst I give and devise unto my Grand Son John Cock all that my ffrehold Messuage or Tenement together with the Barns Stables Outhouses Closes Pieces and parcels of Lands thereto belonging or therewith used and enjoyed and all Orchards now in the Tenure or Occupation of Henry Pain situate and being at Croseley Green in the parish of Rickmansworth in the County of Hertford and all other my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever with their Appurtenances To hold to the said John Cock his Heirs and Assigns for ever Also I give and bequeath un to my Daughter Mary the Wife of John Lee of Pigneys Green aforesaid Watchmaker the sum of three hundred pounds Capital on joint Stock now Standing in my Name in the Books of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England in the Stock or ffund called the four per Cent Annuities Also I give devise and bequeath unto my eight Grand Children that is to say John Cock Thomas Cock Ann Cock John Lee William Lee Sarah the Wife of Samuel Harman Mary the Wife of Joseph ffletcher and Ann Lee All the rest and residue of my .....part share and Interest in the said Capital or joint Stock of four per Cent Annuities now Standing in my Name and transferable at the Bank of England equally to be divided between them my said eight Grand Children share and share alike and if any or either of my said eight Grand Children shall die before me (illegible) then I give his her or their Children share and share alike and if any of my said Legatees shall die in my Lifetime without leaving any Child then I give and bequeath the Legacy of him or her so dying to be equally divided amongst all other of my said Legatees that shall Outlive me I also give to my said Daughter Mary Lee my best bed with the Bedstead Curtains ffurniture pillows Blankets and Appurtenances thereto belonging Also all the rest residue and remainder of my ready Money and Securities for Money Household Goods and ffurniture Goods Chattells and Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever after payment of my Debts Legacies and ffuneral Expences I do give and bequeath unto the said John Cock and William Lee equally to be divided between them And I do appoint the said John Cock and William Lee Executors of this my Will In Witness whereof I the said Ann Hatch the Testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament ontained in two sheets of paper have to the first sheet thereof set my hand and to this second and last my hand and seal the eighth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy six Ann Hatch
