I William Harvey of Wimborne Minster in
the County of Dorset Tanner being sick in body but of sound and
perfect mind and memory praise be therefore given to Almighty
God I’ve
made and ordain this my present Last Will and Testament in names
and forms following [that is to say] first and principally I
recommend my soul to god that gave it me and my body I commit to
the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my
Executrix hereinafter named and as for ……… the disposition of
all such Temporall Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to
bestowe upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth. First I
will that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid and
discharged. Then I give unto my loving Wife the use of all my
household good during her life and after her decease I give the
same equally to be divided to and amongst all my Daughters
Now
I give unto my said Wife all that my dwelling house situate and
being in Leigh in the parish of Wimborne Minster aforesaid
between the two bridges called Eastbrook bridges wherein I now
dwell with all the Lands and Hereditaments thereunto belonging
with the Appurtances for set
many years of my feint
of years
therein as shall run out and expire in her
life time. And from and after her decease I give the same unto
my Grandson William Rootes for and during all the Remainder of
my Terme therein then to
come and
unexpired
then I give unto my daughter Ann Tilsed Wife of Roger Tilsed,
taylor, all that my ………. or Tenement with the apputenants lying
at Leigh aforesaid near or adjoining to Eastbrook Bridge now in
the possession of the said Roger Tilsed for and during all my
terms of years therein yet to come and unexpired. Now I give
unto my said daughter Ann all that my ……… or tenement with the
lands and hereditaments thereunto belonging situate lying and
being at Tatnum in the Parish of Great Canford in the said
County of Dorset for so many years of my terms therein as shall
run out and expire in her life time. And from and after her
decease I give the same unto and amongst her children equally to
be divided between them for and during all the Remainder of my
Terme therein then to come and unexpired. Then I give unto my
Daughter Mary Cosstin my leasehold Estates
called Mans
lying at Leigh aforesaid with the
appurtenances for and during all my Terme therein yet to ome and
unexpired. Then I give unto the said Roger Tilsed all that my
Leasehold Estate with the Appurtenances lying at Leigh aforesaid
called ‘ox’ knowne
by the name of Keepings for and during so many yeares of my
Terme therein as shall run out and expire in his lifetime. And
from and after his decease I give the same unto my Grandson
William Tilsed for and during all the remainder of my Terms
therein then to come and undevized. Now I give unto my said
Grandson William Tilsed all that my Leasehold Estate with the
apputenances called Rushley
in the Parish of Wimborne Minster
aforesaid for and during all my terme therein yet to come and
unexpired. Then I give and devise unto my Granddaughter
Elizabeth Reckes
all those my two plots or parcels of land lying neare Julians
Bridge the said Parish of Wimborne Minster and whereof is in the
possession of James Clarke and the other of Ambrose Harvey and
to her heirs forever. Now I give unto my daughter Gresham
Reckes
one hundred pounds. Now I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth
Reckes
fifty pounds and unto my Grandson William
Reckes
aforesaid fifty pounds and unto my Grandson Richard
Reekes
twenty pounds
Now I give unto my Daughter Mary Costin
forty pounds and unto my daughter Ann Tilsed forty pounds and
unto my Daughter Katherine Willis twenty pounds and unto her two
daughters ten pounds a piece. Now I give unto my Son in Law John
Costin ten pounds. Now I give unto my Son in Law Richard
Reekes
fifty five pounds. All which said money legacies I will shall be
paid in 6 months after my decease. All the rest and residue of
my personal Estate good and chatttells whatsoever I give unto my
said loving wife whom I make full and sole Executrix of this my
Last Will and do make my loving friends Mr Henry Thornhall and
Mr William Humphrey Overseers of this my Will and do desire them
to be assisting unto my Wife in the execution of this my Will.
And I do give unto my Granddaughter Elizabeth Cottell the Rent
now in arrears for Tatnums aforesaid. And I do revoke all former
Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seale the Seventh day of August Anno Domini One Thousand
Seven hundred and Seven

Probate seems to have been granted in
September 1707 but written in Latin which I do not read.
