This is the Last Will and Testament
of me Ruth Harvey of
Wimborne Minster in the County of Dorset Spinster being weak in
body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding as
follows that is to say first I will that all my just debts and
funeral expenses be paid and satisfied by my Executors herein
after named also I do hereby give and devise and bequeath unto
my brother Roger Harvey of Wimborne Minster aforesaid
gentleman all my Messuages Tenements Lands and Hereditaments
whatsoever and wheresoever to hold the said Messuages Tenements
Lands Hereditaments and premises and every part and parcel
thereof with the Appurtenances unto the said Roger
Harvey and his assigns for and during the term of his
natural life and from and immediately after his decease I do
hereby give devise and bequeath the same Messuages Tenements
Lands and Hereditaments and premises unto Elizabeth Harvey
daughter of my Cousin John Harvey of Manswood in the
County of Dorset, Yeoman, Sarah Harvey Daughter of Hy
Harvey of Beaminster in the County of Dorset aforesaid
Gentleman and Ann Willis Daughter of Roger Willis
of Wimborne Minster aforesaid Cooper to hold the said Messuages
Tenements Lands and Hereditaments and premises and every part
thereof with the appurtenances ………… unto the said Elizabeth
Harvey, Sarah Harvey and Ann Willis and their assigns
equally to be divided and parted between them share and share
alike and to the Survivors and Survivor of them as joint
tenants and to the Heirs of the Body of such Survivor and in
default to such ………. then I do hereby give and devise the same
Messuages Tenements Lands and Hereditaments unto William
Harvey son of my said cousin John Harvey of
Manswood aforesaid Yeoman and to his heirs and assigns forever
also I do hereby give and bequeath unto my said Brother Roger
Harvey all my Goods Chattels and personal Estate whatsoever
and wheresoever that I shall or may be possessed of or entitled
unto at the time of my decease and I do hereby nominate
constitute and appoint the said Roger Harvey whole and sole
Executor of this my Last Will and Testament and do hereby desire
and direct that I may be “ buried in the Parish
Church of Stower Fitzpaine County of Dorset where my family
dwell if I shall happen to be within 12 miles thereof and lastly
I do hereby revoke all former and other Will and Wills by me at
any time heretofore made and do declare this and no other to be
my Last Will and Testament. Now witness whereof the said Ruth
Harvey the Testatrix above named leave to this my Last Will and
Testament set my hand and seal the 24th December 1774

in the fourteenth line from the top
hereof being first made in the presence of us who at her
request in her presence and in the presence of each other have
subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto: Wm Dean, Martha
Recks, john Oliver jnr
This Will was proved at London the 6th
May 1775 before the Right Worshipful Sir George Day Knight
Garter of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Perogarive
Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Rogeer
Harvey the sole executor named in the said Will to whom
Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods
Chattels and credits of the deceased he having been first sworn
by commission duly to Administer |
