The Will of Sarah Harris

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Sarah Harris of Cote in the Parish of Bampton in the County of Oxford widow made this twenty third day of June one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight as follows In the first place I direct my Executor hereinafter named to see that I am decently interred in the Church yard of Bampton aforesaid as near my late father and mother as can be.  In the next place I order and direct all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses to be paid by my said Executor. As to the whole of my household furniture plate linen china books and otherwise in the nature of household furniture I give the same to William Townsend of Aston Yeoman who married my niece Elizabeth Banting upon trust that he do and shall as soon as conveniently can be after my decease equally divide the same as near as can be amongst my nephew Joseph Clinch and his two sisters Martha Evans and Mary Clinch to whom respectively I give and bequeath the same. I also give and bequeath ten pounds to my said niece Martha Evans and the like sum to my said niece Mary Clinch. I also give to my great niece Sarah the daughter of the said William Townsend the like sum of ten pounds All which legacies I direct shall be paid within one year after my decease by my Executor hereinafter named. I recommend my great nieces legacy to be paid into some savings Bank till she is of age. All my wearing apparel I give to my said nieces Martha Evans and Mary Clinch to be equally divided between them. As to the rest and residue of my Effects Moneys Securities for Money Stock of Cattle corn grain hay Implements of husbandry Book debts and otherwise of what personal nature soever and wheresoever being at the time of my decease I give and bequeath the same unto my said nephew Joseph Clinch  absolutely for his own use and benefit And I appoint him the said Joseph Clinch sole executor of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written
