The Will of
Harry Phillip Harris
This is the last Will and Testament of me Harry
Phillip Harris of Lower Farm Stalbridge Weston I appoint my wife Lucy
Harris my son Harry Horace Harris and upon his attaining the age of
twenty one years my son Walter Reginald Harris Executors and Trustees of
this my Will I give to my said wife Lucy Harris all my household
furniture books pictures china silver ware and all other my household
effects absolutely I give devise and bequeath all the rest of my real
and personal property whatsoever unto my Trustees Upon trust to sell and
convert into money the same and to hold the proceeds thereof after
payment thereout of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses upon
trust to invest the same (hereinafter referred to as my Trust Fund) and
to stand possessed thereof upon the following trusts
(a) To pay the income thereof to my wife until my youngest child shall
attain twenty one years of age
(b) On my youngest child attaining twenty one years of age to hold one
moiety (hereinafter called the children's moiety) Upon trust for equal
division amongst all my children And as to the other moiety to hold the
same and pay the income thereof to my said Wife for her life and while
she shall remain my Widow and after her death or remarriage to hold both
capitol and income upon the same trusts as are hereinbefore declared
concerning the children's moiety And I declare that until my youngest
child shall attain twenty one years of age my Trustees shall
notwithstanding the trust for sale hereinbefore contained have power at
their absolute discretion to carry on any farming business which I may
be engaged in at my death or any branch of such business and for the
purpose of carrying on any such business to allow my Wife or any one or
more sons to occupy any farm which I may be occupying or about to occupy
at my death upon such terms as my Trustees may think fit And that for
such purpose aforesaid my Trustees shall have power to employ or use or
allow to be employed or used all or any of my live and dead farming
stock and implements and any part of my trust fund whether or not at my
death actually employed in my farming business And that my trustees
shall not be liable or responsible for any loss arising from the
carrying on of my business and that the whole of my trust fund shall be
liable to reimburse my Trustees any loss which they may incur in
carrying on of my business under the foregoing provisions

December One thousand nine hundred and thirteen

Signed and declared by the said Harry Philip Harris as and for his last
Will and testament in the presence of us both present at the same time
who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other
have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

This is a first Codicil to the last Will and testament of the above
named Harry Philip Harris dated the twenty second day of December one
thousand nine hundred and thirteen
Whereas since the date of my said Will I have given by way of advance to
my daughter Alice Maud Brunt the sum of two hundred and twenty pounds or
its equivalent Now I hereby direct that my said daughter shall bring
into account this sum before taking the share given to her in my said
Will and save as aforesaid I in all other respects confirm my said Will
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this sixteenth day of
July one thousand nine hundred and seventeen

Codicil to his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both
present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the
presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

On the 28th day of March 1923 Probate of this Will was granted at
Salisbury to Lucy Harris, widow, Harry Horace Harris and Walter Reginald
Harris the Executors
Be it known that Harry Philip Harris of Kingstead, Fonthill Bishop in
the County of Wilts formerly of Lower Farm, Stalbridge Weston, Dorset,
who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at Fonthill
Bishop aforesaid with the District of the County of Wilts died on the
29th day of December 1922 at Kingstead Fonthill Bishop aforesaid
And be it further known that at the date hereunder written the last will
and Testament with one Codicil thereto of the said deceased was proved
and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty's High
Court of Justice at Salisbury and that the administration of all the
estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative
of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Lucy Harris,
widow the relict, and Harry Horace Harris, farmer, both of Kingstead,
Fonthill Bishop aforesaid and Walter Reginald Harris (who has attained
the age of twenty one years) of the Manor Farm, Bagber Sturminster
Newton in the County of Dorset Farmer the sons of the said deceased the
Executors named in the said Will
