The Will of Daniel Harries
In the name of God Amen
I Daniel Harries of Stalbridge Weston in the Parish of Stalbridge in the
County of Dorset Yeoman Do make this my last Will and Testament in the
manner and form following First I give unto my beloved Wife Elenoar Harries
All the goods and chattles that she brought to me at our Intermarriage by
her paying all her own Debts that she contracted before our marriage in
keeping her shop. I give and devise unto my son Philip Harries at my decease
the sum of one shilling. I give & devise unto Mary Hind the wife of James
Hind one shilling. I give also unto my daughter Ann Harries the sum of five
pounds to be payd out of my estate and effects at the time of my daughter
Maria Harries do attain the age of twenty one years And I also give and
devise .... unto my son Daniel Harries Also Robert Harries Edith Harries
George Harries Harriett Harries Samuel Harries and Maria Harries. I give and
devise my said property of what .. kind and nature at my decease equal to
each of my said sons & daughters Daniel Harries Robert Harries Edith Harries
George Harries Harriett Harries , Samuel Harries and Maria Harries equal
share alike out of my said Estate and effects at the time my said daughter
Maria Harries shall attain the age of twenty one years, but if in case
either of my said sons and daughters Daniel Harries, Robert Harries Edith
Harries George Harries Harriet Harries Samuel Harries and Maria Harries
should so happen to die I give and devise their share unto the said brothers
and sisters that shall be so liveing at the time of my said daughter Maria
shall attain the age of twenty one years. I also give unto my beloved wife
Elenor Harries a bideing with my said son and daughters , If so they shall
so agree while she my said wife shall keep a widow but If they cannot aggree,
that my said sons & daughters shall allow my said wife three shilling a week
while she keeps a widow to be payed to her from my executors here after
mentioned, at the time of my daughter Maria shall attain the age of twenty
one years. But if in case she shall attain the Intermarry with any other
husband all to be void out of my said Will. And I do hereby nominate
constitute my said son Samuel Harries and Maria Harries to be Sole Executors
and Also I do hereby appoint Henry A Barrow and Samuel Harries of Stalbridge
son of the Late Clerk Samuel Harries to be my said Trust for my said
Executors and Also sons & daughters herefore mentioned. And my Will is And I
do hereby direct that my said Executors shall not and my trustees shall not
be answerable for any loss or miscarriage by any security or securities that
may happen in my Estate and Effects, and also they shall attain their costs
& damages and charges expences out of my estate and effects, of this my last
Will and Testament , hereby revoking and making void all and every other
wills by me made heretofore. And I do declare this to be my last will and
testament In witness whereof I the said Daniel Harries have hereunto set my
hand and seal this tenth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand
eight hundred and thirty

Signed sealed declared and published in the presence of us who at the
request of the said Daniel Harries and in his presence have subscribed our
names as Witnesses thereto

On the 22nd day of February 1840 the above Will of Daniel Harris late of
Stalbridge in the County of Dorset and ancient Diocese of Bristol Yeoman
deceased was proved by the oath of Samuel Harris one of the executors
therein named to whom administration of all and singular the goods chattels
and credits of the said deceased was granted he being first duly sworn upon
the Holy Evangelists well and faithfully to administer the same and to make
a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and
credits and to exhibit the same unto the Registry of the Court of the
ancient Diocese of Bristol at the time assigned him by the said Court . And
also to render a just and true account thereof to ... thereto lawfully
required And that the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not
amount in value to the sum of four hundred and fifty pounds. Power being
reserved to make the like grant to Maria Harris the other Executor when
applied to for that purpose
