This is the Last Will and Testament of me
Thomas Harbottle of Hobart Town in Tasmania Painter and
Glazier. I appoint my wife Mary Harbottle and my son
Charles Harbottle Executors of this my Will. I give and bequeath
to my said son Charles Harbottle One third part of all the stock
in trade and articles belonging to me at the time of my decease
and as far as can be ascertained at the time he entered into
partnership with me and appertaining to my business of a Plumber
Painter and Glazier for his own absolute use. And I also
give and bequeath to him one third part of the amount of the
amount of all debts then due to me ^accrued since the
partnership^. And as to all the rest residue and
remainder of my personal estate whatsoever and including money
and debts due to me I give and bequeath the same to my said Wife
her executors and administrators for her and their own absolute
use and benefit. I give and devise to my said Wife Mary
Harbottle and her heirs All the messuages lands tenements
and real estates which I may die seized possessed of or entitled
to or over which I may have any disposing power To hold
the same unto and to the use of my said Wife her heirs and
assigns for ever Subject nevertheless to the payment of
any mortgages or other Incumbrances to which the said Messuages
and real estate or any part thereof may be liable. I revoke
all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare
this to be my last Will. In witness whereof I the said
Thomas Harbottle have to this my last Will and Testament set my
hand this Ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty six.
Signed published and declared by
the above named Thomas Harbottle as and for his last Will and
Testament in the presence of us present at the same time, who in
his presence at his request and in the presence of each other
have hereunto subsribed our names as witnesses. The words “then
due to me” on the eleventh line having been first struck out and
the words “accrued since the partnership” written above the same
