The Will of Dorothy Hannell

 

In the Name of God Amen the thirtieth day of October in the ninth Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith One thousand Seven hundred thirty and ffive I Dorothy Hannell of feasted in the County of Hertford Widow Do make Declare and Ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following ffirst I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it And my Body I desire may be buryed in such decent manner as to my Executor herein after named shall seem meet And as for my Worldly estate whereof it hath pleased God to make me a Steward I dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I do give Will and bequeath unto my Sister Sarah Dell ffive Pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto her every Year during the term of her Natural Life by my Executor hereinafter named his Heirs or Assigns that is to say two pounds ten shillings every half year after my decease during the term of her Natural Life Item I do give and bequeath unto my Nephew Hugh Dell ten pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto him within twelve months next after my decease Item I do give and bequeath unto Mary Chambers Daughter of my Brother Richard Halsey ffive pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto her within twelve months next after my decease Item I do give and bequeath unto Ann ffreeman Daughter of the said Richard Halsey ffive pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto her within twelve months next after my decease Item I do give and bequeath unto Robert White late Servant of my Brother Wm Halsey deceased ffive pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto him within twelve months next after my decease Item I do give and bequeath unto the Poor of the Parish of fflamsted ffifty Shillings to be layd out in Bread and given unto them Item I do give and bequeath unto Robert Byrchmore the Son of Robert Byrchmore in money one Guinea Item I do give and bequeath unto Sarah Harres the now Wife of Ralph Harres in money one Guinea Item all the rest and residue of my Goods and Chattles and Personal Estate whatsoever Owing and remaining unto me (not hereby given and bequeathed) I do give Will and bequeath unto William Halsey Son of my Brother George Halsey deceased He his Heirs or Assigns Paying off all my Debts Legacys and Portions herein given and bequeathed my ffuneral Charges and performing this my Will And I do hereby make the said William Halsey Sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament And I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills Testaments and Bequests by me made and declare this to be my last Will & Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper to the first whereof I have sett my hand and to the last my hand and seal the day and Year above written Dorothy Hannell
