The Will of Ann Hands

 

In the name of God Amen I Ann Hands of the parish of Hooknorton in the County of Oxford Widow being of perfect sound mind memory and understanding Be God blessed for the same do this day publish make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say Principally and first of all I Give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that Gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be to be buried in decent Christian Burial, And touching my Worldly Estate I Give devise and dispose of the same in manner following First I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Wife of Thomas Phipps the sum of twenty shillings; to be paid unto him or her at my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my son John hands the sum of fourteen pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Hands the like sum of fourteen pounds of like lawful Money Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Hands the like sum of fourteen pounds of like lawful Money to be paid unto each of them within one year after my decease Item I Give and Bequeath unto my son Richard Hands All that messuage or tenement together with all Outhouses Edifices Buildings Barns Stables Gardens Yards mounds and fences, whatsoever is thereunto belonging , situate lying and being in Hooknorton in the County of Oxford and now in my own Occupation all which said Messuage and Premises above mentioned I do give and bequeath unto my son Richard his heirs and assigns for ever after payment of my Legacies heretofore mentioned And as for my as for my Burial expenses my Will is that my son John and Richard and my daughter Mary and my daughter Ann shall pay and discharge the same ; in equal degree one with the other And my further Will is that if my son Richard Hands shall not pay, or cause to be paid and discharged all and every these my Legacies within the time above mentioned or doth not chuse to pay and discharge the said Legacies He may sell All that messuage and premises heretofore given and bequeathed unto him so that the same be sold for the best for the best price that it can be sold for within one whole year after my decease And equally divide the money thereof between himself and my son John Hands and my Daughter Mary hands and my daughter Ann Hands ; the sum of twenty shillingd heretofore given unto my daughter Elizabeth and my funeral expences being firs tpaid and discharged Item I give and bequeath all my Wearing Apparil unto my daughters to be equally parted between them as they shall think proper namely to my daughter Elizabeth , Mary and Ann, and I do hereby make and ordain my son Richard Hands sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
