A memorial of the last will and
testament of CHARLES HANBY late of Little Hutton in the parish of
Forcett in the County of York and which last will and testament
bearing date 13 July 1780 is in words and figures or to the effect
following -
This is the last will and testament of my
CHARLES HANBY of Little Hutton in the parish of Fawcett in the
County of York made the 13th July 1780.
I give and devise unto my wife JANE an annuity
of yearly rent or sum of £14 issuing out of all and every my
messuages and lands and hereditaments situate at Gilmonby in the
parish of Bowes and to be payable and paid to my said wife and her
assigns during her life by two half yearly payments one every 25th
December and 24th June by even and equal portions the first payment
thereof to begin and be made on such of the days as shall first and
next happen after my death and my will and mind is that the said
annuity .... is in lieu of her dower ....
I give and devise all and every my said
messuages and lands and hereditaments situate at Gilmonby and all
other real estate whatsoever and wheresoever .... to the use of my
son THOMAS HANBY
I give to my two daughters MARGARET and JANE
HANBY the sum of £300 a piece to be paid tot hem when they
respectively attain the age of 21 years....
I give to my said wife the use and occupation
of such part of my household goods linen and furniture as she shall
chuse out of my two rooms in my dwelling house within three calendar
months next after my dcease upon her signing a receipt for the same
.... to be kept by each of my daughters and subject thereto I give
all my household goods and linen and furniture unto my said daughter
MARGARET and JANE to be equally divided between them. And as to the
residue of my personal estate and effects whatsoever subject to the
payments of my debts and funeral charges I give the same to my son
THOMAS HANBY and do appoint him sole executor of this my last will
and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time
made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day
and year above written.
