In the Name of God Amen I Mary Gunniss of
Horncastle in the County of Lincoln Widow do make Publish and
declare this my last Will and testament in Writing in manner
following viz Whereas Elizabeth Morris Widow in and by her Will
bearing date the Seventeenth day of ffebruary One thousand Seven
hundred and ninety eight gave and bequeathed unto her Cousin
Sarah Gunniss now Sarah Colby the Sister of my late Husband
Edward Gunniss the Interest of the Sum of One hundred Pounds for
her life and after her decease the said Principal Sum to be paid
as therein mentioned and appointed the said Edward Gunniss Sole
Executor of her said Will And Whereas my said late Husband
Edward Gunniss in and by his Will bearing date the twelfth day
of November One thousand eight hundred and one gave and
bequeathed unto his Sister the said Sarah Colby during her life
an Annuity of five Pounds to be paid by me his Executrix as
therein mentioned Now I do hereby give and bequeath unto my
friend Charles Ellwood of Horncastle aforesaid the Sum of One
hundred Pounds to be paid him at the expiration of twelve
Calendar Months next after my decease And unto my friend and
relation John Waite of Boston in the said County of Lincoln
Clerk the Sum of One hundred Pounds as a Remuneration for the
trouble he will have in the Execution of the trusts of this my
Will And all the rest residue and remainder of my ready money
Securities for money Goods Chattels Personal Estate and Effects
whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever
Subject to the Payment of my debts ffuneral Expences and the
aforesaid Annuity and Legacies I give and bequeath the same and
every part thereof unto the said John Waite his Executors and
Administrators Upon trust nevertheless that he the said John
Waite his Executors or Admors do and shall pay distribute and
divide the same equally between my Nephew George Henry Malme and
Niece Margaret Mary Ann Malme Share and Share alike And I do
hereby constitute and appoint the said John Waite sole Executor
of this my Will And lastly I do hereby revoke all former Wills
by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and Seal this ninth day of March in the
Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty Seven

A Codicil to be added to the last Will and
testament of me Mary Gunniss of Horncastle in the County of
Lincoln Widow bearing date the ninth day of this instant March
Viz I give and bequeath unto my late Husband’s relation Samspon
Ellicoates the Sum of Nineteen Guineas to be paid him at the
expiration of twelve Calendar Months next after my decease I
also give to Charles Ellwood of Horncastle Draper two pounds a
Year during the Life of Sarah Colby In trust to be by him laid
out in Wearing Apparel for the benefit of and to be sent to the
said Sarah after deducting thereout the Expence of Carriage Also
I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Rockliffe Widow Mr & Miss
Gunniss of Sleaford Mrs Caparn Mrs Trummard and Mrs John Waite a
neat Mourning Ring to each of them I also give to the said John
Waite my Prayer book unto Mrs Ellwood the Choice of one of my
two best Shawls and unto Mrs Hill of Horncastle my best black
Bonnet black Cabinet Gown Purple Cloak and Grey Silk
Handkerchief with a black border and in all other respects I do
hereby ratify and confirm In Witness whereof I the said Mary
Gunniss have to this Codicil to my said Will set my hand and
Seal this twelfth day of March in the Year of our Lord One
thousand eight hundred and twenty Seven Mary Gunniss
