The Will of Samuel Grubb

 

In the Name of God Amen and in the Year of our Lord 1813 dated this 29th day of June This is the last will and Testament of me Samuel Grubb of the Parish of Little Berkhamstead in the County of Hertford whom am sound in mind memory and understanding ffirst I direct all my just Debts may be paid I desire my Body may be decently buried and....by my Executor hereinafter named and after paying my just debts ffuneral Expences and the proving of this my last Will I dispose of my Property in manner and form following and I do hereby appoint my Brother William Grubb my sole Executor my two thousand five hundred pounds Stock in the five per cents Navy Annuities standing in the name of Samuel Grubb of Wrotham in Kent Servant to Richd Levett Clerk and my annuity of Twenty five Pounds per Year in the Long Annuities at the Bank of England standing in the name of Samuel Grubb of Little Berkhamstead in the County of Herts Gent I dispose of as under I give to my Brother Thomas Grubb my Sister Elizabeth Hewett my Sister Jane Musgrove my Sister Kezia Richardson to each one hundred and ffifty pounds Stock five per cents Navy Annuities I give and bequeath to my Wife Hannah Grubb during her natural life the Interest and Dividends of One thousand pounds Stock five per cents Navy Annuities before mentioned the Dividends and Interest during the term of her natural life but not the Principal to receive the Dividends herself or appoint whom she may think proper to receive for her not to be under any Controul of my Executor the remainder of the five per cents Navy Annuities I give and bequeath to my Brother William Grubb my Executor and after the decease of my Wife the said Hannah Grubb I give the One thousand pounds Stock five per cents Navy Annuities amongst my Brother and Sisters that may be living equally share and share alike my Brother William Grubb my Executor to take share with the rest and I likewise give him the Annuity which is after the decease of my Wife the said Hannah Grubb and hereby appoint my Brother William Grubb my sole Executor well knowing he will do everything justly and honestly to the best of his ability Samuel Grubb
