In the Name of God Amen I William Grover the older late of Newton Valence in the County of Southampton but now of Alton in the said County Yeoman being in perfect Health and of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding (praises be God for the same) do make this my last Will and Testament in Manner following that is to say Principally I recommend my Soul to Almighty God and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor herein after named and as to my wordly Estate I give and dispose therof as follows First I will that my just Debts and Funeral Expenses shall be fully paid and satisfied Also I give devise and bequeath All that my Freehold Estate situate at Newton Valence aforesaid with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto my Son William Grover his heirs and Assigns forever Also I give and bequeath all my Household Goods and Furniture unto and amongst all my Sons and Daughters William, Thomas, John,m Olive, Ann, Hannah and Sarah equally to be divided between them share and share alike All the rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattles, Effects ready Money and Monies due to me on Securities or otherwise and all other my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto and amongst my sons Thomas and John and my Daughters Olive, Ann, Hannah, and Sarah equally to be divided between them share and share alike and I will that the parts or Shares of my said Duaghters respectively shall be paid and delivered into their own Hands and that their Receipts alone shall be sufficient discharges for the same notwithstanding Coverture Also I do hereby make constitute and appoint my said Son John full and sole Executor of this my Will and do direct and order him faithfully to fulfil the same and to see that my said Legatees? have each an equal and just share of my personal Estate as above mentioned after payment of my said Debts and Funeral Expenses and all reasonable Charges for his Trouble and Expenses in the Execution hereof Lastly I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me at any time made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness thereof I have here unto set my Hand and Seal this Twenty sixth Day of August in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven Hundred and seventy two
