The Will of Jos Humphrey Grover

 

In the name of God Amen I Jos Humphrey Grover of Cobham in the County of Kent Grocer being very weak of Body but of perfect Mind and Memory thanks be given unto God Therefore calling unto Mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament (that is to say) First of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executrix nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty Power of God And as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form First I make and appoint my Dearly beloved Wife Ann Grover my sole Executrix to whom I Bequeath all the Money I die possessed of together with the whole stock in Trade Household Goods & Debts also that Freehold estate consisting of one Messuage or Tenement Blacksmiths forge and Garden situate in the parish of Hadlow in the said County (now in the Tenure or occupation of Mr John Grover) by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed In Witness whereof I the said Humphrey Grover have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this twelth day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and three Joseph Hy Grover
