This is the last
Will and Testament of me Mary Griffin
of Drayton Beauchamp in the County of Bucks Widow which I make
publish and declare in manner following (that is to say) first I
direct and appoint that all my just debts and my ffuneral
expenses and the charges of proving this my Will be paid and
satisfied by my Executors hereinafter named as soon as
conveniently may be after my decease Also I give and bequeath
unto my daughter Mary Brill the sum of thirty pounds sterling
Also I give and bequeath unto my son in law Richard Morris late
the husband of my deceased daughter Hannah Morris the like sum
of thirty pounds sterling And I direct the said two several
legacies to be paid to the said legatees respectively by my
Executors hereinafter named within six calendar months after my
decease Also I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Mary
Griffin (daughter of my son John Griffin) the sum of twenty
pounds sterling And to her sister Jane Griffin the sum of ten
pounds sterling Also I give and bequeath unto my grandson James
Burnall the sum of ten pounds sterling And I direct the three
last mentioned legacies to be paid to the said legatees
respectively by my said Executors within twelve calendar months
next after my decease Also I give and bequeath unto my son
Henry Griffin my bed whereon I usually sleep with the bedstead
bedding and ffurniture belonging to it also a turn up bedstead
with the bed bedding and ffurniture Also my stout oaken chest
with whatever shall be contained in it at the time of my
decease Also a Night stool four cherry tree chairs a small
brown cupboard with its contents a teakettle a small pottage
pot two brass kettles one clock and a small table All which
articles I direct shall be delivered to my said son Henry
Griffin by my said Executors immediately after my decease Also
I give and bequeath unto and equally between and amongst my two
daughters Mary Brill and Elizabeth Burnall and my granddaughter
Sarah Morris (daughter of the said Hannah Morris) all my wearing
apparel and all the residue of my household furniture not
hereinbefore given to my said son Henry Griffin And I direct
that the same shall be delivered to my said daughters and grand
daughter by my said Executors immediately after my decease And
all the rest and residue of my goods chattels and personal
estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever I give and
bequeath the same and every part thereof unto and equally
between and amongst all my children that shall be living at the
time of my decease and the issue of such as may now be dead or
shall hereafter die in my lifetime leaving issue such issue to
be entitled to their respective parents share and to take per
stirpes and not per capita And lastly I nominate constitute and
appoint my two sons William Griffin and George Griffin joint
executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all
other Wills by me at any time heretofore made In testimony
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty sixth
day of July In the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred
and four The Mark and Seal of the above names Testatrix Mary
Griffin X Signed sealed published and declared by the above
named Mary Griffin the Testatrix as and for her last Will and
Testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her
request and in the presence of each other have attested and
subscribed the same

This Will
was proved at London the twentieth day of November in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six before the
Worshipful John Woodfield Compton Doctor of Laws and Surrogate
of the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws
Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of
Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of William Griffin
the son of the deceased and one of the Executors named in the
said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular
the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased he having
been first sworn duly to administer. Power reserved of making
the like Grant to George Griffin the son also of the deceased
and the other executor named in the said Will when he shall
apply for the same. |
