and Weak but of sound
and disposing Mind
Memory and understanding
thanks be to God do make
and ordain this my last
Will and Testament in
manner following that is
to say first I give will
devise and bequeath unto
Mary my loving Wife and
her heirs and assigns
all that my Messuage or
Tenement with the
Outhouses Yards Gardens
and appurtenances
thereto belonging
Situate and being on the
Northside of the Women’s
Market Place in Leighton
Bussard aforesaid in the
said County of Bedford
fronting South into the
Street there and now in
the Tenure of Richard
Stone the Messuage of
William Perrott on the
Westside thereof To hold
the same unto the said
Mary my Wife and her
heirs and assigns for
ever In Trust
nevertheless that she
the said Mary my Wife
her heirs and assigns
shall and may sell and
dispose of the said
Premises to any
Purchaser for the best
Price that can be got
for the same Provided
always that she the said
Mary my Wife shall of
the Rents and Profitts
of the said Premises and
out of the Purchase
Money arising by such
Sale hereof well and
Sufficiently provide for
maintaine Educate Cloath
and bring up Thomas
Gregory my only Son
until he shall arrive
and come to the age of
one and Twenty Years in
case he shall live so
long and put him out
Apprentice to some Trade
or business at the age
of ffourteen Years and
also upon this further
Provisoe that she the
said Mary my Wife shall
by with and out of the
Rents and Profitts of
the said Premises or the
purchase money arising
by such Sale thereof
well and truly pay or
cause to be paid to the
said Thomas Gregory my
Son the Sume of fifty
Pounds of lawfull Money
of Great Britain when he
shall arrive and come to
the age of Twenty one
Years in case he shall
so long live but in case
of his decease before he
shall come to that Age
Then the said Legacy
shall sink and not be
paid and the said
Premises or the Money
arising by such Sale
thereof shall than go to
the said Mary my Wife
her heirs Executors
Administrators and
assigns and to whom I
give and devise the same
accordingly also I give
devise and bequeath unto
the said Mary my Wife
the use of all and every
my household Goods of
what kindsover for and
during the Term of her
natural life and from
and after her decease
Then I give and bequeath
the same household Goods
unto the said Thomas
Gregory my Son but in
case of his decease
before the said Mary my
Wife I give and devise
the same unto the said
Mary my Wife her
Executors Administrators
and assigns also I give
devise and bequeath unto
the said Mary my Wife
all and every the rest
and residue of my moneys
debts Stock in Trade
Goods Chattels and
Personal Estate
whatsoever To hold unto
the said Mary my Wife
her Executors
Administrators and
assigns Provided always
that she thereout Pays
all my just debts
ffuneral Expences and
also thereout and out of
the Messuage or Premises
so devised to her as
aforesaid well and
Sufficiently Provide for
maintain Educate bring
up and also putt out to
some Trade as aforesaid
the said Thomas Gregory
my Son and I do hereby
make and ordain the said
Mary my Wife full and
sole Executrix of this
my last Will and
Testament and I do
hereby revoke and make
void all other Wills by
me heretofore made In
Witness whereof I the
said Henry Gregory the
Testator have to this my
last Will contained in
Two Sheets of Paper to
each Sheet set my hand
and Seal the Sixth day
of April the Twentieth
Year of the Reign of
King George the Second
and in the Year of our
Lord one thousand Seven
