In the name of God Amen I Charles Greeveson of
Grewelthorpe in the County of York yeoman now stricken in yeares but
God be thanked of perfect mind and memory And calling unto mind the
Mortality of my Body knowing that all men must once Die doe make and
ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme
following
First and principally I give my Soul into the
hands of God who gave it to me and for my Body I comend it to the
Earth to be buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named
And as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to
bless me in this Life I give devise bequeath and dispose the same in
manner and forme following
Item I give and bequeath six pounds lawfull
English Money unto the Poor of Grewelthorp aforesaid the Interest
thereof yearly to be paid for ever unto the Poor of Grewelthorp
aforesaid upon Shrove Tuesday being the day of My Nativity and such
payments to be made out of the Rents Issues and profits to arise out
of my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in Grewelthorp
aforesaid
Item I give and bequeath unto William Beckwith
Son of George Beckwith of Roomer Ten pounds to be paid within a
Twelvemonth next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto Anthony Beckwith
Son of the said George Beckwith Ten pounds to be paid within a
Twelvemonth next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto Allice Beckwith
Daughter of the said George Beckwith Ten pounds to be paid within a
Twelvemonth next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath
Item I give and bequeath unto Suzanna Beckwith
Daughter of the said George Beckwith seaven pounds to be paid within
a Twelvemonth next after my Decease
Item I also give and bequeath unto Hannah
Beckwith Daughter of the said George Beckwith other seaven pounds to
be paid within a Twelvemonth next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto William Cooke
whom I stood Surety for on his Baptisme Ten Shillings
Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Allison
whom I stood Surety for in Baptisme other Ten Shillings
And to Mary Thirkill to whom I also was
Godfather five shillings
All the said Legacies to be paid by my
Executrix hereafter named within a Twelvemonth next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto John Ward of
Swinton John Pickersgill of Wardermaske and Margaret Wife of Thomas
Ripley of Fearby every one of them five shillings to be paid within
a Twelvemonth next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto Charles
Pickersgill and John Pickersgill sons of Sarah Pickersgill of
Grewelthorp aforesaid either of them five pounds to be paid when
they respectively attaine their severall Ages of One and Twenty
yeares
Item I give and Devise all my Messuages
Freehold Lands Tenements and Hereditaments scituate lyeing and being
within the Territories of Grewelthorp aforesaid unto the said
Charles Pickersgill and John Pickersgill and their heires for ever
Equally to be divided betwixt them and to enter upon the same when
they attaine their severall Ages of One and Twenty yeares and not
before.
And I likewise give unto them the said Charles
Pickersgill and John Pickersgill All my Leased Lands whatsoever and
wheresoever equally betwixt them to have and hold the same when they
come to their severall Ages of One and Twenty yeares and Not before
Item my Will and mind is that Sarah
Pickersgill their Mother shall have hold and enjoy all the Rents
Issues and profitts of All and singular as well of my Freehold Lands
as Leases dureing the Minorities of the said Charles Pickersgill and
John Pickersgill
And my Will and meaneing and Intent is that
the said Sarah Pickersgill shall have house Roome in my Dwelling
house dureing her Life if she be not againe married
Item All other my personall Estate of what
kind soever the same be either Bills Bonds Mortgages Goods Quick and
Dead household Goods I give and bequeath unto the said Sarah
Pickersgill
And I doe make the said Sarah Pickersgill sole
Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament not doubting but she
will honestly pay and Discharge all the Legacies above by me
bequeathed my Debts and Funeral Expenses And I doe hereby revoke and
make void all my Former Wills and Testaments
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seale this Eleaventh day of January in the Third yeare of the
Raigne of our Soveraigne Lady Anne by the grace of God Queen of
England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the Faith p.. Anno

The condition of this Obligation is such, that
if the above bounden Sarah Pickersgill doe well and truly execute
and performe the Last Will and Testament of Charles Greeveson of
Grewelthorpe deceased
And do pay his Debts and Legacies fo far as
his goods will extend and Law shall bind her if also she do exhibit
into the Registry of the .. Juri..scon a true and perfect Inventory
of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits, Cattels and Chattels
of the said Deceased, and do make a true and just Account of the
same when she shall be thereunto lawfully called. And moreover if
need require, enter into further Bond with more sufficient sureties
for performance of the premises as the Judge of the said Court for
the time being shall think requisite and needful. And lastly do
save and defend and harmless keep the above named Comissary and all
his Orricers and Ministers, against all persons by reason of the
premises. Then this present Obligation to be void and of none
Effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.
