The Will of William Green

 

In the Name of God Amen I William Green Carpenter of the Parish of Saint Mary Magdalene in the suburbs of the City of Oxford being of sound mind memory and understanding (thanks be to Almighty God) but weak in my bodily health do first commit my Body to the Hands of my Creator in hopes of future bliss I will and bequeath to my beloved Wife Phoebe Green my Freehold Dwelling House situated in Friars Entry in the Parish of St Mary Magdalen aforesaid with the yard Workshop and other premises thereunto belonging subject to a Mortgage made to Mr John Norgrove for the sum of One hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain I further bequeath to my beloved Wife Phoebe Green all my other Effects (excepting my Working Tools which I bequeath to my son James Green) I further will that my stock in trade be sold for the purpose of defraying all my just Debts and Funeral Expences within one Month after my burial after my Decease I will that my beloved Wife Phoebe Green do dispose of the premises afore mentioned according to her own discretion for the future good of my Family and I appoint my beloved Wife Phoebe Green my sole Executrix William Green
