The Will of Thomas Green

 

In the Name of God Amen Thomas Green of Wallesey in the County of Chester Yeoman being weak of Body but of Sound & perfect Memory knowing the uncertainty of my departure out of this Life doe make & ordaine this my last Will & Testamt in Manner following first and Principally I Bequeath my Soul to God Almighty my Creator hopeing through & by the Meritts & Sufferings of Jesus Christ my Saviour & Redeemer to Receive free pardon & Remission of all my Sins & my body to the Earth from whence it Came to be Buried in Christian Buriall at the Discretion of my Executx hereinafter named & as to that Estate wch the Lord in his Mercy hath Bestowed upon me my Will & Pleasure is that after the Probate of this my Will & all my Debts & ffunerall Expences are fully discharged & satisfied ……the Remainder of all my Estate of what Nature or kind soever the same is or in whose Hands soever the same or any part thereof shall or may be found to my son John Green & that the same shall be fully & wholly Improved to the Sole use & behoof of my sd Son John by my Executx (whom I trust to bring my sd son up in Some Learning & Laudable Education until he attains Such Lawfull age as he can or may Improve & Manage the same himself) & this is my Will I Leave my Loveing Sister Elizabeth Green to be my Sole Executrix & doe hereby Renounce & make void all or any other Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made & pronounce this my Last Will & Testamt In Witness where of I have hereunto sett my Hand & seal this twentieth day of October 1713
