The Will of Sarah Gill

 

In the name of God Amen, for as much as it is appointed unto all persons once to dye, I Sarah Gill of Wymondham in the County of Leicester Widow, calling to mind the uncertainty of this life do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner following, first of all I commit my soul into the hands of God that gave it me, and my body to the earth of which it was made dust unto dust in hopes of a joyfull resurrection in and thro’ the alone meritts of Jesus Christ the Righteous, and to be decently interr’d at the discretion of my executrix herein after named, and as for my worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to intrust me, with I dispose thereof as follows (Viz) I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Mary Gill of Wymondham aforesaid all my estate Goods Cattle Chattells rights credits and personal estate whatsoever (my debts and funeral expences being first paid and discharged) whom I do hereby appoint full and sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament, revoking all former Wills be me at any time heretofore made. In Wittness I the said Sarah Gill the Testator have hereunto sett my hand and Seal the nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty seven     Sarah Gill
