In the Name of God Amen This 13 December 1751
I FRANCIS GILL of Little Moore in the parish of Spennithorne and
County of York yeoman being weak in Body but of sound mind and
perfect memory thanks be given to God therefore calling to mind the
mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men
Once to die do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in
manner and form following.
First I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved
with ELIZABETH GILL all my messuage outhouses lands grounds and
premises for the term of her natural life situate lying and being at
Little Moor aforesaid she paying out of the same to my son in law
SIMON THOMPSON of Harmby the sum of £3 a year yearly and every year
during the term of her natural life
Also I give and bequeath to my eldest son
ROBERT GILL his heirs and assigns at and after the Death of my said
Wife ELIZABETH GILL all my messuage outhouses lands and grounds
adjoining and belonging the same at Little Moor aforesaid he paying
out of the same the Legacies herafter mentioned that is to say to my
second son FRANCIS GILL his heirs and assigns the sum of £150 And
also to my son in law SIMON THOMPSON aforesaid his heirs and assigns
the sum of £60 of lawful money. And whereas I have computed my
messuage aforesaid together with the Lands grounds thereto belonging
to be of the full value of £400 but in case my eldest son ROBERT
GILL shall not think fit to accept the messuage and other the
premises aforesaid at the value of £300 paying the legacies
aforesaid out of the same that then he shall assign all his right
and title to the said messuage and estate to his brother FRANCIS
GILL aforesaid receiving out of the same the sum of £500 of lawful
money - but if neither of my aforesaid sons shall accept of my
messuage lands and appurtenances thereof at the value aforesaid
paying the aforesaid legacies that then they shall assign all right
and title to my son in law SIMON THOMPSON aforesaid he paying out of
the same the sum of £200 to my eldest son ROBERT GILL and the sum of
£140 of lawful money to my second son FRANCIS GILL their heirs and
assigns but in case he shall refuse the same upon the terms and
conditions aforesaid then my will and pleasure is that my said
messuage lands grounds and all every the appurtenances thereof att
Little Moor aforesaid shall be publicly sold by my eldest son ROBERT
GILL or his order He receiving one half of the purchase money and
the other half part to be divided between my son FRANCIS GILL and
SIMON THOMPSON my son in law in proportion to their aforesaid
legacies That is to say so much as the messuage and lands sold shall
exceed or fall short of the value before made so much they shall
receive over or above in proportion to each of their aforesaid
legacies.
And lastly I give and bequeath to my wife
ELIZABETH GILL all my personal estate of what nature or kind so ever
it be whom I likewise nominate and appoint sole executrix of this my
last will and Testament revoking and disanulling all and every other
wills legacies and bequests by me heretofore made Ratifying this and
no other to be my last will and testament in Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

The within named Elizabeth Gill sole executrix
of Francis Gill of Little Moor in the parish of Spennithorne was
swore before me April 20th 1752
Bond of Administration for Elizabeth Gill of
Little Moor widow and sole executrix and Simon Tompson of Little
Moor 20 April 1752. The condition of this obligation is such that
the above bonuden Elizabeth Gill sole executrix of Francis Gill of
Little More in the parish of Spennithorne ... do pay his debts and
legacies so far as his goods will extend ...
