In the name of god Amen I Andrew Gaskell
of Hadocke w’rhin the County of Lancaster husbandman beinge
sicke in body but of ..... and p’fect Memoriepraysed bee god
doe ordaine Constitute & make this my last will & testament in
man’ & forme following first I give & bequeath my soule into the
hands of Almighty god my maker and Redeemer by whose death &
passion I hope to bee saved & my body to bee buried in my
Christian burial att my p’ishe Churche of Winwick there to
Remaine in the busome of the earth untill it shall please god to
Rayse it upp againe and to endue it w’th a bodye of immortalitye.
And for such goods as god hath given mee the use of my will is
thus to dispose of them First it is my will that my debts legac....
and funeral expences shalbe discharged of the whole
And then it is my will that my goods
shalbee devyded into three equall p’ts One p’te to my self,
Another to my wife, and the third and last p’te to my Child or
Children It’m I give unto every Child whom I am godfather unto

equally devyded betwixt my wife & child And for thother half of
my goods I doe give them equally betwixt my twoo brothers Peeter
Gaskell & Rob’te Gaskell And if it fortune that my Child or
Children shall both dye before they shall attaine the age of 14
yeares that then their p’t and por’on of goods shalbe disposed
amongst my frends att the discretion of my executors and
overseers It’m I make my true & lawfull executors hereof
Margerye my wife and Peeter Gaskell my brother And I Request
John Humfrison and Peeter Kinon sonne of James to bee overseers
hereof to see all things p’formed and kept as my trust is in
them In witnesse whereof I the said Andrew Gaskell have unto
putt my hand & seale the 17th day of December 1628
