The Will of Richard Garland

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Garland of the Parish of Tyneham in the County of Dorsett Yeoman And I do declare this to be my Last Will and Testament Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Wife Mary Garland four hundred pounds to be laid out in an Estate for her naturall life and partly for my children begotten of her, more I give my said wife one shilling Item I give to my Brother Henry Garland the interest of three hundred pounds during his naturall life at the Expiration whereof the said three hundred pounds shall return to my children to be equally divided between them Item I give to my daughter Mary Garland one hundred and ffifty pounds to be paid her at the date of her marriage or when She comes to the age of one and twenty which first shall happen if she dyes before marriage the said money shall be equally divided betweene my surviving Children Item I give more to my Wife Mary Garland of my Household Goods one thing of a sort for her use during her naturall life and after her decease to be equally divided between such of my Children as shall then be living Item I give more to my Brother Henry Garland of my Household Goods one thing of a sort for his use during his naturall life and at the expiration thereof to be equally divided between such of my children as shall then be alive Item the rest of my Household Goods not before given I give and bequeath to my Children to be equally divided between them Item the beforementioned four hundred pounds to be laid out in an Estate for my Wife during her naturall life to be by her enjoyed. After her decease I give and bequeath to my Son Richard Garland and if he happen to dye without issue to be equally divided between my Surviving children Item All the rest of my Goods Chattells etc. I give and bequeath to my son Richard Garland whom I appoint full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament Item I appoint and constitute my ffather in Law Thomas Powell of Litton in the County of Dorsett and my Brother Henry Garland and my Sister Margaret ffarr to be Trustees of this my last Will and Testament in the behalfe of my children and of all things herein contained In testimony whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this 30th day January Anno Domini 1716 Richard Garland
