In the Name of God Amen I Alice Franklin
of the Borough of Saint Albans in the County of Hertford Widow
do hereby make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in
manner and form following (that is to say) I give and bequeath
to my Grandson Thomas Day two Silver Table Spoons I give to my
Grandson William Day my Silver Watch I give and bequeath to my
Granddaughter Mary Day my Silver Buckle And I desire the same
may be delivered to my said Grandchildren immediately after my
decease I give devise and bequeath unto my Son in Law James
Whitney all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Hereditaments
and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in Dagnall Lane
aforesaid and all other my Real Estates whatsoever and
wheresoever To Hold to the said John Day and James Whitney their
Heirs and Assigns forever as Tenants in common and not as joint
Tenants I Also give and bequeath to the said John Day and James
Whitney all and singular my Personal Estate of what nature kind
or Quality soever chargeable nevertheless with the Payment of
fforty Pounds to my Granddaughter Mary Man when she shall arrive
at the age of twenty one Years but in case my said Granddaughter
shall die before she shall attain the said Age of twenty one
Years then I Will that the said fforty Pounds shall sink into
the Residue of my Personal Estate for the benefit of my said
Sons in Law John Day and James Whitney and I do hereby nominate
constitute and appoint my said Sons in Law the said John Day and
James Whitney joint Executors of this my Will in Witness whereof
I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this eighteenth day of
April one thousand seven hundred and seventy six The Mark of X
