In the name of God
Amen. I Thomas Fox of Cote in the parish of Bampton and County
of Oxford this twenty third day of Nov one thousand seven
hundred and eighty four Being weak in body but perfect mind and
memory and calling to mind and duly considering the uncertainty
of human life do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner
and form following my body I commit to the Earth to be decently
interred at the discression of my Executor hereinafter named as
to be interred in the Church by daughter Ann and the grave to be
walled with brick and plank over as to my Temporal Estate I
bequeath and dispose of it in this following manner: First I
give and bequeath unto my son William Fox one acer and half
acer in Greenacers and to be some assistance to my son Francis.
I give it my grandson Thomas Fox after my son William Fox.
Secondly I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Fox half my half
Yard Land and Two Cow Commons paying to Francis my son ten
shillings a year or buy him some cloths as my son Thomas shall
think proper a half Yard Land called the freet after my deceas:
Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah Fox fifty
pounds of good and lawfull money to be paid after my disceas. I
give and bequeath unto son John Fox two Gally acers in Bossinger
Mead two shorvers free Land for him to sell and dispose of at
his pleasure for the payment of my Debts. Lastly I make
constitute and appoint my son John Fox whole and sole Executor
of this my last Will and Testament Requiring him to pay all my
just Debts and the legacies before mentioned with all convenient
speed after my disceas to whom I give all the rest residue and
remainder of my money in the house at my disceas all my goods
chatalls and all things unbequeathed I give it him for his use
and the two half Yard Lands and all Rights Meadow Ground and
Comons excepting what I have bequeathed to my son William and
my son Thomas Fox. My Will is that my son John Fox shall pay
unto my son Francis Fox one pound ten shillings yearly and every
year During the life of my son Thomas Fox or to buy him such
clothes as he shall think proper instead of the one pound ten
shillings as my son John Fox shall think proper and if any
disputes arise between my children My brother Francis shall
decide it and my brother Francis shall inspect that I am
interred according to my … I chuse him in trust so to do and
all things contained in my Will This and none other I commend
to be my Last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of
paper signed at the bottom with my own hand and seal in Witness
hereby these persons have signed. N.B. Be it remembered that I
give more unto my daughter Hannah Fox all my stock of cow cattel
and all my household goods after my Deceas Thomas Fox

This Will was proved at
Oxford on the twenty fourth day of March in the year of our Lord
1787 before the Revd John Cox Clerk Batchelor of Laws Surrogate
of the Revd Henry Ford Clerk M.A. Vicar Gen. Official Principal
and Commissary of the Right Revd ffather in God John by Divine
Permission Lord Bishop of Oxford lawfully constituted by the
oath of John Fox son and sole Executor therein named to whom
Admon was granted being first sworn duly to Administer.
